The only thing that ruined my trip to PEI was my accommodations. I unwisely booked a room at the Lobster Shanty in Montague. Unless you are comfortable staying in an old, run down, damp, musty, depressing motel then DO NOT stay at the Lobster Shanty in Montague, PEI.
The owner has no clue how to be hospitable. He is just out to make money. He did not honor my quoted rate of $89.00 per night when I checked in. He simply advised me that he had given away my room and I had to stay in a Chalet for $179.00 per night. I eventually got a regular room for $89.00 but only because my friend felt sorry for me and switched rooms with me. The room I stayed in was not worth $5.00 per night. It was old, stinky (musty smell), the air conditioner didnt work, there was tape on the bathroom wall covering a hole, the shower tile grout was moldy and filthy, the whole place is falling apart and outdated. The floor grout was also dirty. This motel is very old, tired and in my opinion, very unhealthy with regard to mold spores. I will never stay at the Lobster Shanty again and I hope no one else has to experience this poorly managed facility.
If you have reservations at the Lobster Chanty, you would be wise to cancel them and book somewhere else.
