“Luxury on Prince Edward Island, CA”

We stayed here for two nights and golfed the Crowbush Links golf course. This is one of several Rodd Resorts on PEI. We had a rental car and crossed over to PEI from New Brunswick via the Confederation Bridge. It is about an hours drive from the bridge. There is nothing but good things to say about the quality of the entire resort, the staff, golf course, and David's (on-site) gourmet restaurant. It is simply elegant, classy and breathtaking! The rooms have up-to-date furnishings and fabulous beds. While we did not have a balcony that you could walk out on, there was a full-length sliding window which opened onto georgeous views of the golf course. This was a standard priced room. The pro-shop also has a light breakfast and lunch menu with a deck that affords beautiful views. This resort is on the ocean. The price is very fair for a resort of this caliber.

“Not Family Friendly”

Just returned from PEI to avoid the storm. The Hotel and golf resort is beautiful but not friendly to families. The staff at the front desk were excellent but the restaurant, and room service staff were horrible. The location of the resort was quite far from other attractions in PEI. In order to visit the beach on the resort, you had to call for a golf cart to shuttle you to the beach. If you are looking to visit PEI with young children, I would choose a place closer to Cavendish, Summerside, or Charlottetown.

“Comfortable and accommodating”

My wife and I stayed at the Resort and ate at David's which is the restaurant at this Resort. The rooms are spacious and the fridge in the room is very much appreciated. It is quiet and the view of the golf course we had was fantastic, even during Hurricane Earl. The beds are of excellent quality although I think they could need to replace their televisons. We had a room with a balcony and the balcony which was a nice feature. The windows of our room also opened which permitted us to breathe fresh air instead of air conditioning. The room was also very clean. A drawback is the fitness area. They really need to update their machines in the fitness room. David's is a great restaurant. We had the halibut/lobster dinner and it was excellent. The staff are also very friendly. the views from the restaurant are also pretty nice.

“Inconsistent, but overall very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

Exquisite location! Great for a honeymoon, especially for golfers. Abuts a quiet beach and is only a half-hour drive to Charlottetown. Comfortable quarters and beautiful setting.

The housekeeping service was inconsistent - some days our glasses seemed to be just put back on the shelf dirty, or towels were left sitting on the floor; while other days it was spotless. The staff was extremely young and mostly good-natured, with the exception of a few. I found that the restaurant, which has been touted as one of PEI's finest, was mediocre at best. The decor feels outdated. Also, I don't know if the walls are thin or what, but we were awakened in the middle of the night by our neighbors moving clothes around in their closet - horrible screeching noise of hangers on the rod! The "professional spa practitioners" were obviously inexperienced - my husband and I were both left disappointed in our spa services.

If we stayed here again, we'd likely rent one of the cottages rather than stay in the lodge, to have more privacy, quiet and be able to cook our own food.

“great resort but to expensive for what you get”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

We stayed here for 2 nights . First night in hotel and the second night in the cottage. The hotel rooms are regular size , clean but not wow. The cottage was great, 2 floors , not large but ok if you have the 2 bedroom one .The one bedroom is one floor of the cottage with someone else on the other floor. Grounds are great nature at it's best. The beach is really nice large waves and nice sand . Misquitos were very heavy even with machine in the back yard . Would love to go again but it's too expensive for what you get . Yes it's nice but not that nice . Great for large group to be together if cottages are together.
