After eventually finding the resort (our GPS couldn't find it and sent us to a trailer park instead), we arrived at this beautiful resort right before dinner - and immediately were struck by the gorgeous sunset views on the golf course and the magnificently maintained grounds. The staff at the desk was helpful and nice every time we had questions or requests, and check-in / check-out were a breeze.
Our room was on the main floor, and therefore didn't have a patio to step out onto, but the living space was well decorated, and very comfortable - the living room had a nice couch and stuffed chair, a desk, a mini-fridge and a coffee-maker, and a TV, and the bedroom had an awesome king bed, with another TV (no more fighting for the remote...)! Two entrances to the washroom were useful for those of us who sleep longer than others...
The restaurant was OK. The service was fantastic, but we didn't loooove everything. The curried mussels with na'an bread were so good we had them twice, but the rest of the food was average (pork was overcooked, pierogies stuffed with lobster and PEI smoked gouda were a deception), and priced a bit too high.
The beach is unsupervised; the sand is clean and fine, the bottom of the water is not covered in rocks, mussels and algae, and the water wasn't too cold to swim (although I didn't stay in very long).
For golf, we pre-booked our tee-off times when reserving our stay, and got the times we wanted. The course is absolutely magnificent, and unforgiving as many before me have said (I had the worst game of my life, but it was still sooo worth it, for the scenery and the challenges). We played Crowbush (at the resort) and Dundarave (a 20-minute drive away). Dundarave was slightly (but only slightly) easier.
I would definitely stay here again, especially on a golf vacation. But I might also try the Rodd resort at Dundarave, since this resort seems a little less out of the way and just as nice.
