This hotel was clean and tidy, staff was friendly, However, don't except the bed size that you booked for. We wanted a Queen size and looked like a double. There breakfast bar was just a loaf of bread, toasters, individual packets of jam and a shared tub of margerine

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed at the Anne Shirley Motel and Cottages for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment style room. There were 2 washrooms, a kitchen, a living room with a flat screen TV and 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double). Very comfortable beds!!!! It was extremely clean! The motel has a pool and a hot tub. One of my daughters used the hot tub and said it was nice. The pool is heated but is not terribly warm (solar heat I think and they haven't had a warm summer out east). All rooms look out onto the pool area which is fenced in.

The location was perfect as it was down the street from the entrance to the Cavendish East section of the PEI National Park. The motel gave us a pass to use to get into the park so we did not have to pay day fees.

Next door to the motel is a gas station where you can rent bikes (decent ones too!). For a half day of biking along beautiful bike trails following the coast in the National Park cost the 4 of us $92. Money well spent! There are all kinds of little coves/beaches to stop along the the bike paths.

The motel is literally a 3 minute drive from 2 gorgeous golf courses. Also, Avonlea Village and Green Gables National Historic Site (the motel gave us passes for this as well) are within walking distance. It is about a 5 minute drive from the Cavendish West beach which has washrooms and a lifeguard (beautiful but busier than the smaller coves).

Although I did not see inside the regular motel rooms and cottages at the Anne Shirley I'm sure they were just as clean!

Nothing outstanding and nothing that was upsetting. Clean rooms and a decent sleep. Close to area ttractions. The continetal breakfast that is inlcuded is not worth trying to get in on - basic and plain. They do have BBQ that guests can use and a small but clean pool. Motel complex is well maintained. They wil llet you sign out passes ot go to the Anne Of Green Gables palce as well as to get to the beach.

We have stayed here a number of times over the years and find the motel more than adequate for the price and our needs.Service has been consistent over these years and I know what to expect when I stay there.Cost is about average and because we are "beach fans" the complimentary National Park pass is a money saver.The complimentary continental breakfast is nothing fancy,but enough to get the day started.The motel area always appears clean and well-cared for.The use of barbecues and the outdoor pool and hot tub are other perks.
