We came to PEI for vacation and booked this place after looking at several websites and price comparing. I usually go by tripadvisor reviews when booking so it was a risk since the last review was written in 2007 when I booked! We were happy with our choice, however. We saved money from staying directly in Cavendish, and happily escaped the busier area. It really is a very short drive. We staying in the one bedroom "luxury" cottage. It was very clean, but certainly not luxurious (nor were we expecting it to be, from the pictures). Lorraine was a wonderful host, very accomodating and pleasant. She took time to make sure we know what attractions were "worth it" and what was "junk." It was very convienent to have the kitchen-- but the coffee maker was too small in my opinion, usually had to make two pots for the two of us! The whole place had a really kitsch-y feel-- I mean that in a good way, captured some local charm! We also enjoyed our dinner at New Glascow Lobster Suppers. There is Wi-Fi but it was finicky. The pool is an above-ground with a deck, and very clean.

We have attended the Cavendish Music Festival for the past two summers. Both times we have stayed at Mayfield Cottages in Mayfield, PEI. We had such an awesome experience the first year at these cottages that we went back to stay their again.

Lorraine the lady who takes care of the cottates goes above and beyond to make your stay an enjoyable one. She drove us to the concert last year and picked up us, which we so muchly appreciated. This year because of the changes that were made she was not able to pick us up, but we were told of a really good taxi service and we couldn't find their number in the book. She was on her way in town and saw a car that belonged to the taxi company we wanted, she flagged then down and came back to the cottages with cards for us. What a great lady.

She runs a tight ship, but we can tell you from experience that we certainly appreciate the time and effort that she into making sure that all of her guests have a great time.

The cottages are beautiful, clean and very well kept. We would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Very clean and tidy, everything you needed for a gettaway break. A bit on the remote side especially when driving back in the dark, and a bit further away from things than the web-site suggests, but nevertheless it was exceptionally good value.

Great place to stay. Owners are extremely friendly, great hospitality. Exceptionally clean cottages, the cleanest we've ever stayed in anywhere on our travels. Kids love the pool. We loved it so much we booked a week for next year before we left.
