We have stayed at the Gillespie on a couple of special occasions. Lori and David have been gracious, friendly hosts and the rooms are very well done with a combination of late 1800's antiques and modern conveniences. Its a excellent place for a stay of several days as there is lots to see and do in the area, with the Ships Company Theatre within walking distance, as is the Bare Bones Cafe and a few minutes drive away is the Geological Museum and a nice hike at Partridge Island. Its also a good base to go and explore the incredible Cape Chignecto area with its hiking and sea kayaking, with Cape d'Or nearby and one of the best restaurants in Nova Scotia at the Wild Caraway. The entire area is a nature lovers and photographers dream
With the filling and delicious breakfast that David and Lori provide you will have lots of fuel for all your explorations of this natural paradise. Its a bit off the main tourist routes, but its a scenic drive in and a stay at the Gillespie house is a great reward for the effort.
