My fiance and I stayed at the Old Lantern Inn for two nights in June during a two week vacation on the east coast and just days after he proposed. The Old Lantern was amazing. We had never stayed at B&Bs before this trip but we stayed at the Queen Anne in Annapolis Royal and the Old Lantern and loved them both. We weren't sure what to expect at a B&B but found the Old Lantern to be very private, comfortable and welcoming. We felt at home.
We stayed in the L'Acadie Blanc. The room was upstairs, so yes it might not be ideal for an older couple as one reviewer pointed out, but it was quite suitable for us. The bed was very high and I had to use the step stool to get in, but I kind of liked it. The room had a tv and some old movies in a drawer. The tub was nice. We had a view out into the vineyards.
The breakfasts were great, although I am pretty sure we were offered the same choices both mornings. The location was okay if you don't want to be right in town and want to relax. We walked over to the winery next door for a nice lunch one day. It is only a short drive to town. All in all, I loved the Old Lantern Inn and the time we spent in the valley, it was so relaxing. The inn was very quaint and was a nice change to the typical hotel room. I would definitely love to return if I am ever on the east coast again.
