“great historic home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

My sister and I spent a night in the second floor room which was cozily decorated with antique furniture (four poster double bed and a single bed tucked into the wall). Pretty linen. The landing had a tea station with a mini-fridge. Very handy. Note: you can buy milk at the Mercantile, a trendy little cafe/shop just a few minutes walk down the road. Both our bathroom and our bedroom were very clean.
The common areas: downstairs has two rooms available to visitors - a dining room and a sitting room. INcludes reading material. Lighting could have been a bit better though for reading on the chair in sitting room.
Breakfast in the Twine Loft was great. As my sister has allergies, they were able to accommodate her and make her something different from the standard breakfast that morning.
Walking distance from everything in town -- historic museums, theatre, shops.
If we are ever back that way we will definitely book one of these properties (the owner manages 4, I believe).

A beautiful view, lovely room, and great breakfeast.

We were pampered and felt very special. What a lovely place to linger, and visit all the little villages along the coast.

“A true gem of Newfoundland!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2009

Our family visited the town of Trinity in June 2003. Unfortunately our schedule did not include an evening to truly enjoy the theatre, historical sites and beautiful location this town had to offer. When preparing for our third family trip to Newfoundland in June 2009, a two night stay in Trinity was certain. Tineke Gow and her staff were very accommodating and were able to make arrangements for our family of six to enjoy the Campbell House. This was a highlight for our entire family to be together in our own house! The food at the Artisan Inn Restaurant was exceptional. Our family have travelled the entire "ROCK" and Trinity remains one of our most favourite towns.

“Would definitely stay again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2009

We stayed at Campbell House for three days in June and loved both the accommodation and Trinity. It is true that there are low ceilings, creaky floors and steep and narrow stairs to the floor with the bedrooms. However, they are all part of the experience of staying in a house that is over 150 years old and has so much character. We had the room with the two beds and both were very comfortable. (Private bathroom was across the hall.)

Breakfast was served at the Twine Loft a short walk away. Each day we were there, it consisted of orange juice (on the table), a small buffet of cereals, fruit and yogurt, muffins with local berries (on the table), a hot entree and tea/coffee. There was ample to eat and everything was delicious.

We also had dinner at the Twine Loft one of the nights we were there and enjoyed every bite.

Tineke and her staff are very welcoming. We would stay at Campbell House again.

“Wonderful place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2009

My wife and I spent two nights during a 12 day trip to Newfoundland. We wish we had spent more. The house dates back to the 1840s is renovated and furnished appropriately and is very comfortable. Trinity is a very beautiful spot and ideally situated as a base for day trips. Tineke the owner is a fountain of knowledge on what to see and how to get there. Dining in their Twine Loft steps away is first class for breakfast lunch and dinner. A must stay when visiting Newfoundland.
