“Puts the pleasure in business travel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Half of my group of close to 100 stayed at the Fisherman's Landing Inn in October. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious and clean. The service was exceptional. On the business side of things, the FLI easily accommodated our conference meetings for the whole group and made sure that our coffee breaks were amply supplied with a variety of healthy choices. All of our technical requirements were put in place without any problems. The staff easily managed our group dinner one evening. The Baked Cod in a Creamy White Wine Sauce prepared by the Inn's Chef was amazing. Vegetarian and non-fish substitutions were gladly provided. Not one single person had anything negative to say about the meal, and the service. Meals (breakfast and lunch) offered through the week (despite this being clearly off-season) were timely and well-prepared. Roxanne and her staff treated everyone with respect and kindness; professionalism you don't often see. Rocky Harbour was a great place to bring people from all over Atlantic Canada together, and the FLI added to the overwhelming success of the conference.

“I thought that this place was just wonderful, the conference room was spacious, clean and very practical.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Rooms very comfortable, clean, staff exceptionally friendly, late check in wasn't any problem. I stay many times here on business or early morning trips or late night arrivals by Air Canada at the Deer Lake Airport. They make me feel at home and after a long day of travelling, you can't ask for anything better than a nice comfortable bed and a very clean room and friendly staff. I would recommend this Inn to anyone.

“Gracious, Courteous, Very Accomodating.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

My group (a party of 10) travelled to Gros Morne and stayed at Fishermans Landing Inn, on two seperate nights. I do beleive I can speak for the others in my group when I say the owners were very gracious, and accomodating.

The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. We were kept together in the same area on the initial evening and once again when we returned a couple of days later.

Our group was travelling by motorcycle and the weather was poor, wet and cold. When we arrived we were soaked thru our rain gear to our very bones. It was WONDERFUL, that the Inn has a washer and dryer for the guests to use. What a pleasant suprise. Thank you!

Although it was disappointing that the restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner, the owner graciously picked up our dinner for us and delivered it to us, not once but twice. As a matter of fact the woman at the front desk even offered us her car so we could go pick up our dinner if we wished. We were also able to sit in the dining room and enjoy our pizza, being offered plates, utensils, beverages, whatever we needed.

The Blueberry pancakes are awesome! The jams are delicious. I must admit though the menu is sparse and a little expensive.

Thank you for your hospitality. Should we return to Newfoundland and the Gros Morne area it will be our pleasure to stay with you again.

“TERRIBLE PLACE TO STAY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

This is a bear bones hotel everything for owner nothing for customer. Towels like tissue paper, rubber stoppers for drains, sketchy price information and the list goes on.

Restaurant only open for breakfast, lounge practically non-existent, wireless never worked, no view in an area that has multiple view but they charge a lot of money for a not so nice room. Stay at the Ocean View Hotel in town, view over the harbor, nice restaurant and friendly people. Save your money and stay away from Fisherman's Landing

Room Tip: Go to Ocean View Hotel.

FishermansLandingInn, Owner at Fisherman's Landing Inn, responded to this review
10 August 2011
Thank you for your review and we apologize for your displeasure. As owners of Fisherman's Landing Inn we appreciate all responses whether positive or negative.
In response to your review, first let me explain that our dining room is only open for breakfast for this season, due to staff shortages and we sincerely regret this inconvenience.
Our lounge has always been advertised as a coffee shop/bar and our friendly staff will always provide service when requested.
We have received 3 1/2 stars from Canada Select and our rooms are up to standard. Our room rates are competitive and the quoted price is listed on the registration card that the guest signs upon check in. When a guest checks in and is not happy with the accommodations a full refund is given and the guest is free to leave. However, any problems should be expressed at check in and not at check out in the morning.
We have never had problems with our linens, as we only order high quality and always dicard any worn linens.
While we have been experiencing some difficulty with our wireless internet from time to time, we are doing everything possible, working with technicians, to resolve this issue.
As with all locations, not all properties can be located on the water. However, we do have a quite area with views of mountains and a short walking trail on the back of the property next to a stream. We are also only a short distance from the main area in town.
We strive ourselves on friendly, helpful staff and high quality accommodations. We apologize if this is not what you had received and we hope that you had enjoyed the rest of your visit on this spectacular Island.
Sincerely,
Walter Nicolle

“GREAT place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

Just completed a conference here last week. The rooms are clean and modern. The food was fantastic. Hiking trails are close. Lots of scenery within only minutes drive. The staff were amazing! Roxane and everyone else went well beyond what you would normally expect. What a great bunch of people! I had 37 colleagues in this hotel. There has not been as much as one complaint about anything! Can't wait to go back!!!
