“Hotel Fine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

Stayed here in September 2010.
This was a one night stay as we were travelling to Whistler from Banff.
Sun Peaks is a long way from the Trans Canada Highway and Kamloops along a very winding road into the mountains.
Hotels is very central, quick checking, room was available despite arriving early.
Room was clean and fine for what we wanted. We overlooked the main street, and up one of the mountains. The hotel restaurant was closed, and there was not too much open in the town.

Sun Peaks was dead when we were there, weather did not help as it was raining the entire time, so may have given us a bad impression of the town. I would not recommend this resort in the summer unless you are walkers, or mountain bikers as there does not really seem much else to do.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

We were up for a car event held during Sept 9-12. The location is right in the heart of the village. The bedroom area and the bathroom were both a good size. Very handy having the small mini fridge in the room for our "liquid refreshments". The coffee maker was almost the best we had provided in any hotel room. Good coffee and hot. They also provide ceramic mugs and a spoon, which is so much nicer than the paper cup and plastic stir sticks you normally get. They also had wine glasses in the room as well as hi ball glasses which was a good idea. I had to call downstairs to have the room safe reset so we could use it, and the hotel owner/manager was up right away to do that for us. The owners of the property are very nice and hands on to help you with any concerns you may have or questions you need answered. King size bed was nice and firm just the way we like it. As this was still the 'Summer Season" for the hotel, the restaurant was closed so we can't comment on it. The menu did look good. I would definately stay there again. They have very limited parking both outside and underground, so you do need to confirm with them prior if you wish an underground spot. There is a $10 fee for that. There is free wi-fi in your room, but if you want to use the internet computer downstairs in the lobby area available for guests there is a fee.

“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sun Peaks Lodge.”

Stayed at Sun Peaks Lodge for 2 weeks Ski Holiday in January 2010. From the moment we walked into the hotel to the moment we left the hotel staff were among the friendliest we have ever met. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any one. We stayed in the superior king room which when we booked the receptionist said was her favourite room, she was right there was bags of room with some were to sit and look over the village towards the mountain. The room was immaculately clean in very good order and all the facilities needed for a holiday. The bed was so comfortable we did not want to get up each morning but the breakfast and the snow were good so we had too.
Small but very very clean hot tub and sauna probably the cleanest we have ever seen (we have skied both in Canada and Europe for the past 13 years)
The Steaks in the restaurant are the best and best value in the village and there was always a smiling face to greet you.
Well done to all at Sun Peaks Lodge hope to see you again next year and hope this review makes you choose this hotel you wont be disappointed.

“Great location, lovely staff, nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 March 2009

Just back from spending March break skiing at Sunpeaks. Stayed at the recently renovated Sun Peaks Lodge. Great location, skis on at the front door , 30second slide to lifts, nice hot tub, steam room and sauna for apres ski, very clean. Rooms are nicely renovated , staff was friendly. Booked the option with breakfast included for 4 , big continental breakfast nicely laid out with lots of choices.Ski room in basement has drying racks for boots and area for waxing and tuning your skis. Only issue is parking :a dozen underground parking spots, is not much , most guests park at P4 east of village and walk 10mn back to the hotel , at night the walk back is not lit, take a flashlight.

“Would return in a heartbeat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2008

Just spent a night at Sun Peaks Lodge and loved it. The staff was friendly, accomodating and went the extra mile no matter what the request.
Everything from the rooms to the spa area is extremely clean and a European flavour is nicely evident everywhere. It's rare to see a hot tub area so clean as this and it was a real treat. The owners obviously take pride in their business.
Room was large, well kept and very comfortable. Hope good reviews don't prompt them to up their prices because it's very good value for the money.
