Sun Peaks is a 'second string' resort area, and not of caliber to attract the big name hotel chains- Starwood, Fairmont, Pan Pacific, etc. But Delta did venture into that market, and now anchors what is a pretty commendable little village. It is located right beside, and I mean right beside the lifts and is accessible from several entrances, convenient for shopping and slope side activities.
There are several independent good quality establishments, including Nancy Greene's (now sold) Cahilty Inn, but Delta leads in almost all categories. The architecture is not very inspired, but it works well. There is underground parking, an impressive entry.
It has arguably the best restaurant in town, a pool with three hot tubs, a good sized fitness facility, a fairly grand lobby, and predictably good rooms.
I was in a mountain view oversize room, with opening windows, a soft but decent bed, good linens, and the usual entertainment/bathroom amenities, plus a ski valet and other touches that distinguish the hotel. There are several equipment rental/repair, sales outlets within steps of the hotel.
For some reason, there was no maid service during my two night stay. So no fresh towels or bed makeup. Not a big deal to me, and it was probably an oversight.
The half life of a hotel's 'contemporary feel' is probably under a decade, and this Delta has long reached that. The tv's aren't flat screen, the bathroom tubs look very plain, old style, counters and fixtures 90's chic at best. They do provide a small fridge/ microwave/ coffeemaker, but then, so does Motel Six.
The plumbing and mechanical make odd sounds, and I could hear the ice machine just down the hall, but those are minor complaints. The snow cats grooming the hills were far more intrusive at night than anything emanating from the hotel.
All in all, it was a good quality, predictable stay. It earns its stripes, but could use a minor cosmetic makeover pretty soon.

Thanks for providing such thoughtful and thorough feedback regarding your recent stay at Delta Sun Peaks Resort.
I agree that we have a pretty commendable village but not so much with the "second string" resort area comment. Sun Peaks Resort boasts the 2nd largest amount of skiable terrain in BC and the 3rd largest in Canada.
I'm glad you had an overall good stay with us and I do apologize for the lack of service to your room. I have discussed this with our Housekeeping team and assure you that this oversight will not occur in the future.
And thanks for your comment regarding our restaurant - Mantles Restaurant and Lounge.
Looking forward to welcoming you back in the future.
