I have recently stayed at the Smithers Sandman Inn. The staff were very helpful and accomodating to any and all requests I had. The room, though not large, was very clean and cozy! As a Tim horton's junkie, the fact that there is one right beside the hotel was absolutely great. Overall, I would definetly stay again!!!

I have stayed here twice. It is by no means the nicest hotel on the planet or even in Smithers. It's a little old and dilapidated. It's got a not terribly pleasant odor about the place. There is a Tim Horton's (I think) drive thru in the parking lot and I was kind of yelled at more than once while going to my car. The parking lot is also dark. If you are travelling alone as a woman, I might suggest staying elsewhere. There are a couple newer hotels just up the street.

Stayed for two nights, attending a wedding in Smithers. Rooms were very clean and had a fridge and microwave. Right next door to a Tim Hortons - did not hear any noise as rooms were on other side of hotel. No elevator but only two stories. Great Value.

During our 6 weeks of travel throughout Alaska and Canada this was the most unwelcoming hotel we stayed in. We had booked this hotel in May and now wish we had made a different choice. On arrival it appeared to be an effort for the man at reception to even acknowledge you, certainly no hello or welcome - a most uncomfortable experience. It was an after thought for him to even supply directions to our room. If we asked a question we were lucky to get a one word answer. This man has no people skills whatsoever and would appear to be in the wrong industry. Our room was basic, but at least it was clean. Would definitely advise anyone staying in Smithers to look elsewhere.
