Although we did not stay at this hotel we stayed nearby, and there are not alot of dining choices in Naramata, so we opted for this place. The greeting at the door, although amiable, was delivered over the bar, by an over ethusiastic server , who was in the process of making drinks, answering the phone, and directing other staff. Obviously way too many tasks for one person to deliver a proper warm and professional greeting to incoming patrons. Seated in the lovely courtyard, nestled among the cedars, and a clear view of the heritage Mission style hotel, was enchanting.
When a server-type person finally approched our table, it was only with water, and we were informed that our server would be with us shortly. That took about 5 minutes to happen. It appeared that our server was attending to tables in both the upper patio area, the lower patio area and the interior area of the restaurant, Again spread across a large geographical area, with way too many tables to attend to properly. When our server arrived we were quickly informed of the daily specials, in rapid fire speech, kinda mumbly and all slurred together, with lots of culinary terminology thown in. Niether I nor my partner caught much of what our server said, and we didn't bother to ask for any clarification, as we were not given the opportunity to do so. We opted for some of the house baked foccaccia bread with a few expensive side dishes, and an entree each. The food was very tasty, lots of interesting flavours, but rather blandly presented. Not much plate appeal, garnish or embellishment to again pricy entrees. Over-all, thankfully the food was good, but the quality of service was lacking. Too rushed and distracted by having too much on her plate. Not the sever's fault of course, but certainly something management should be aware of.
