I chose this because the lady who was traveling with me did not want to stay in a B&B. There aren't really any hotels other than this one so that's what I chose. After we explored the area we discovered several B&Bs that provided much more for much less.
If you want the privilege of sleeping in a tiny room in a museum, then do it. There is no insulation around the doors or windows so if someone was in the hall, it sounded like they were in your room. The room was small, cramped is a good description. The plumbing was old. The toilet was running when we checked in. I asked at the front desk for it to be checked. We were there for three days and it never was. Every night I had to turn off the water to the tank in order to get some sleep.
The restaurant was overpriced in my opinion. I had the Shepherds Pie one evening. the beef, etc, came in a cup - the kind they keep melted butter in to dip your lobster in. I was flabbergasted.
The free breakfast was fabulous. Fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, etc. and a local granola that was great.
I would not return to this hotel. I would instead seek out one of the B&Bs in the area.
