This bed and breakfast goes above and beyond the traditional B&B in every sense. The host, Sherry is a delightful, friendly woman, who is all about your comfort during your stay. The place is very laid back, not pretensious in the slightest, and only takes seconds to fit into perfectly as if it were your own home.
A renovated country house, the building is decorated beautifully, insicde and out. Nestled in Gabriola's gorgeous woods, there is several acres of yard, both wooded and lawned, along with fish pond, chicken coop, and garden to explore. There is outdoor games, a large army hammon, a tee-pee, and a fort for children and adults who like to act like children.
I had a brief peek into the other two rooms, and saw both were furnished beautifully and comfortably. We stayed in the Bumbleberry Suite for our anniversary and it was spectacular. Large room, lush carpet, huge aunswuite, beautiful view from King size bed and large, deep bathtub, along with large walk-in closet, pull-out couch/bed, table, and stools. Your request for coffee, or tea is taken the night before and between 7:00-7:15am it srrives on a beautiful tray with insultaed carafes, cups, cream, sugar, the works. A continetal breakfast with muffins, fruit, yogurt, and granols is set up along with apple and orange juice in the incredible country kitchen, to keep you satisfied until the meal.
The meal was my favorite part. Sherry set up a make-your-own style omolette bar, with countless toppings, fresh eggs, and ziplock bags, in which you literally make your own omolette. After putting them in a double-boiler for 13 minutes, they roll out of the bag onto a plate with toast and grape-fuit and are yours to enjoy.
Sherry also offers a pick-you-up, drop-you-off service to and from the ferry and is an all-around nice lady. She had a bunch of games as well as a full tv-dvd-vcr in which you can bring and watch your own movies if that whats you want to do.
All in in, it was a wonderful experience and we will definatly go back.
