“best (and almost only) place in Ainsworth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

The pool is the main reason to visit Ainsworth, and this is the most convenient way to staay and enjoy it.

Front desk staff is a bit arrogant but the hotel is good.
Not new but confortable and quiet.
The restaurant - one of the only one in that hamlet - is also great.

Tip: If you want to cut costs, book a night at nearby Mermaid cabins.
Accomodation is very basic, very small beds and rooms.
You'll have to pay 10$ to get to the pool, but will save elsewhere.
They have an outdoor BBQ so go to Keslo and buy yourself a good steak and a few veggies for the grill.

I'm glad you found our rooms quiet and comfortable. Since your visit, we have competed 2/3 of a total room renovation, with contemporary and designer upgrades. We strive to offer our guests a one-stop hot springs getaway, excellent dining and well-stocked gift shop. There will always be options to accommodate those wishing to cut costs. Thanks for taking time to comment on your visit. We appreciate all of it.

“Interesting”

The hot pools were most enjoyable and it was unique to in an outdoors pool on a cold wet night and to be enjoying it. The staff at the pool were also very nice.
The changing rooms were a bit rugged, all in together type with little privacy. There were some cubicles but the doors were high off the floor so little privacy for someone with stumpy legs like me!!
The rooms were very average, functional is the best I could say.
Reception staff were very nice.
The dining staff were a bit off hand, did the job but that was all. Meal was OK but rather slow. I think we were supposed to book but as we were late arriving just took pot luck in getting a table. They weren't busy, only 6 other diners but I think we were made to suffer for not booking!
Happy to have experienced the place but wouldn't return unless it had a decent makeover.

Talk about timing! Since your visit our guest rooms have been transformed from functional to fabulous! Throughout the winter months we have been busy with guest room renovations. Pool change rooms are next on the list! Your experience in our dining room was relayed to management and has since been addressed. Certainly, it is not our intention to compromise anyone. We do hope you will reconsider and come taste one of chef's new recipes!

The hotel opened 25 years ago (in September '87) and we are celebrating with a total guest room renovation. You will experience a lovely change on your next visit. We especially appreciate all your comments and will continue to put our best foot forward.

“A delightful getaway!”

We have been staying at Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort since the 1980s. Our stay there has been consistently relaxing and enjoyable. When we want to give ourselves a treat we make a trip to Ainsworth. This year our trip was to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and Mother's Day. We weren't disappointed. We had dinner at the restaurant at the resort. My salmon dinner and my husband's prime rib were excellent. The accomodations were clean and comfortable. The primary attraction, the hot springs and cave, were as relaxing and well maintained as always. I highly recommend this resort!

“Unique, Enjoyable, Comfortable in Gorgeous Surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

My brother and sister in law have raved about Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort and travel there from Northern Idaho several times a year. This July they took myself and my teenage son and the four of us shared a room. Admittedly it was a bit tight and more motel-like than resortish, but the room was spotless and adequate for an overnight. The views, the service, the hot springs and the dining were fantastic.
After an easy check in and quick change into bathing suits we made our way to the showers and then to the caves. This had been our first experience in BC as well as hot springs so it was all new and fun. We had a blast. To experience it all, we stayed in the very warm caves and after 10 minutes or so took a cold plunge, then moved into the larger pool. Folks with babies and young children should note that it is not a swimming pool - it is a soaking pool and meant to be relaxing. The lifeguard was quick to remind some folks there is no splashing or horseplay allowed. That was appreciated.
After a wonderful soak we went back to the room and made dinner reservations at the onsite restaurant. The four of us each had a different entree and each was excellent. The waitstaff were friendly and all together it was a great evening out.
Next morning we were first into the hot springs and by noon back on the road.
All in all it is a bit spendy, but so worth it. If you are looking for a high end spa, this is not the option for you, but for a wonderful relaxing time in comfortable surroundings with good food, this is the place.
