FIRST OF ALL! HORRIBLE!

Myself, wife and 6 month old son attended this hotel as we figured it was the only decent one there. WE WERE WRONG...

1.) We booked a week earlier than our arrival date
2.) We confirmed the night before
3.) When we arrived, THEY GAVE AWAY OUR ROOM! The only room they had was a SMOKING ROOM...did I mention i had a 6 month old? NOT GOOD! Then they tried to charge us over $100 when we were qouted $72.95 plus tax, this was even for a single bed room that wasnt what we wanted.

It was dirty, unkept....who ever said they renovated was blind or something. The toilet was yellow, the tub was yellow, it looked as if there was 'creepy crawlies' all around the room. We didnt even sleep in the sheets as they are so hard and itchy that we couldnt sleep. It was rediculous...dont get me wrong. If i paid $30 a night...it would make sense. But for one that set me back $80...wtf. Thats rediculous! I coudlnt cancel or they were going to charge us anyways....even though they werent busy!

DO NOT GO HERE!

ALSO at 2:30 am my wife had a angry drunk kicking her door and yelling at them to come out. we called downstairs, they wouldnt answer or do anything. All my wife could do was stay in thier room and lock all the doors and pray for the best. luckly the drunk man did not get in. When my wife went downstairs in the morning, the owner (host) prety much shrugged it off and made it seem like it was no big deal. It made her feel very unsafe, unwelcome and very much degraded.

I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS HOTEL TO MY WORST ENEMIES!

1. NOT renovated! False advertising.
2. Itchy and uncomfortable sheets
3. They got rid of our room and tried to charge us way more for a room that is not what we requested.
4. Treated us with disrespect
5. The continental breakfast was a joke... watered down juice..i can probably get a better breakfast outside by the garbage.
6. Rooms stunk like stale smoke and a dirty diaper
7. Could care less about our safety
8. Spoke to us like we were idiots

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! If you need a motel....GO TO MOTEL 6! Its $2 more but its worth it, id rather no one else to feel and experience what we went through!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this motel! It looks awful from the outside, but the inside has been recently renovated and it's actually very nice. They really should fix the outside of the building, because it's very misleading - I thought the place was going to be a trash heap.

This is my fourth night on a road trip through Canada, and this is by far the best deal I have gotten on a hotel so far. Only $92, and for that price I got free internet, a very clean and modern room with every amenity you could want - TV, microwave, fridge, iron, hair dryer, laundry room on the premises. The bed was also super comfortable, feels like a new mattress.

And, there's a Dairy Queen right next door! What more could you want?

Don't let the outdated decor fool you. This Thriftlodge offers great value for a place just off Highway 2. My room on the second floor was decently sized featuring 2 queen beds. Even though it was close to the highway you couldn't hear the traffic.

I was thoroughly impressed with cleanliness of room's interior. There wasn't a speck of dust on the headboards or window sills and even the fridge & microwave were spotless.

Breakfast was simple, but ample. Check-in/out was a breeze. The staff was exceedingly friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again just for the "down home" country experience. Remember, this is a vintage establishment so don't expect a lot of frills, but excellent value and sincere hospitality.

Well, I came accross this motel by chance, as I was driving back from Lethbridge at 1am. I was getting tired at the wheel, and was looking for a place to crash. I figured it couldnt be that bad as it was a chain. Despite looking a bit dated and worn outside, inside I was pleasantly surprised. The night staff got my transaction over with quickly, and a very reasonable $76 incl tax.

My room was on the second floor, and again, was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a grot pit, but, the room and bathroom was very clean. Spotless shiny taps and sink.

Some of the decor and furniture throughout the place is a bit cheezy and a bit 70s, or dated, but its all in good order, the bed is comfy and clean, and at the end of the day, when one is tired from driving, thats all you need.

In the morning, there is a simple 'help yourself' breakfast, toast, cereals, coffee etc.

I gave it an 'excellent' based on what it does for a business road warrior like me needs, a clean bed and room for the night.
