This isn't a bad hotel for the price. As someone else said, it's a Select Inn not the Ritz. If you're going into the place expecting a 5-star hotel, you should probably get your head checked or at least become more familiar with American hotel chains. When you need a bed and all the other budget chains are booked, you go to the Select Inn. (Which was the case with me.) You don't stay at a Select Inn for the experience, you stay there because you need a place to sleep.
I stayed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. I'd consider somewhere else for an extended stay. They apparently do have a laundry, but I didn't check it out. Also, the rooms didn't have fridges or microwaves. I get sick of restaurant food after about 2 days and it would be nice to have a place to store and cock some basic meals. There was no table, just a desk, but then again I had a single room. The room came with a coffee maker, but the pot was so stained I decided not to use it.
Overall room cleanliness wasn't the best. It is an older hotel with older furniture so it's not going to look as good as a new place. But I didn't notice any major dust build-up or offensive stains anywhere. The bathroom could have used a good scrubbing though. The metal fixtures were caked with soap scum.
The hotel does have wifi. (something not mentioned on the website) The signal was pretty good. I was able to stream movies over netflix without any problem.
The bed was very nice. I have trouble falling asleep anywhere but my own bed, but I was out like a light every night. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable and the mattress gave just the right amount of support. (I wonder if it wasn't fairly new?) One thing that is overlooked in a lot of hotels are the curtains. The Select Inn had very heavy blackout curtains. The room was just as dark during the day as it was at night. Very please about that!
I stayed during a very busy weekend in Minot. The state baseball tournament was going on, not to mention all the oil and construction workers. Still, the hotel was generally quiet. The room did a good job of blocking sounds from the outside and from other rooms. (You could really hear it if you were in the hallway though.)
I guess to sum things up, I'll just repeat what I said in the beginning. This is the Select Inn. It's not the Ritz, the Hilton, or even the Days Inn. It's just the Select Inn. And if you need a place to sleep for 2 or 3 nights, it will work.
