I stayed here with my husband, two children and my mum. The hotel is absolutely lovely. It is very very clean. The rooms are lovely and spacious - read some other reviews and wonder if they have stayed in a differnet hotel??? We had two 3/4 beds and a pull out bed for the little one. There was still plenty of room in the room and lots of storage space.

All I would say on the downside was that the resort is very German orientated. I think we met about 5 other Brits whilst there so you definitely feel in the minority. Everybody in the hotel was German so the food did tend to cater towards the Germans. Don't get me wrong there is always something to eat but whether it is something you would choose is another matter! We did end up eating out a few times but Bulgaria is so cheap it doesn't really matter. 5 of us ate out with drinks and a steak each as well as garlic bread to share for all of us - it was amazing - we had about 10 cocktails between us as well as beer and pop for the kids and it was only about £80. Great!!

The only other problem was the hotel seemed to accept big groups of very young people. I am not joking when I say the groups were probably 30+. At one point it felt like we were in an 18-30's hotel. I complained to the manager and in fairness they did try their best, they put up posters asking them to keep the noise down etc and it was quiet in the rooms after 11.00 pm as they all went out drinking! It did make it difficult to get to the bar etc but the barmen were great and did serve the other people first most of the time and left the young ones to wait. Everywhere else I have stayed you are limited to between 1 and 4 drinks on all inclusive. They don't do this here which is good in one way but bad in another. When you have one young person in front of you but he orders 30 drinks for his friends it can get annoying!

My last criticism of Kristal Hotel is that you can have Cola on all inclusive but you can't have diet Cola ??? I still don't get this!? Also you can't have fruit juice which I think is bad.

Overall, I know it seems like i am moaning but I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again. The staff are absolutely fantastic and very acccommodating. They go out of their way to help you. They said the young people tend to go in June as they are celebrating their graduation so I think next time we may go at the beginning of July! If you are thinking of booking do it - it really is great!!

Our room was very smelly and the balcony the size of a postage stamp. We had 2 small children and the room was very small and cramped. The evening entertainment was down by the pool so very dangerous for small kids, and you could not take your eye off them for one minute. The bar was 2 floors up, so impossible to get a drink on all inclusive, while entertainment on, and by the end kids so tired and want to go to bed, and you were not allowed to take drinks to room or they would fine you, so ended up buying beer and wine from local shop. Food not too bad. Pool was very cold, and not enough sunbeds. Had to put towel down by 7am to reserve any. Golden sands very run down compared to Sunny Beach. Do not book through Balkan holidays, as 2 weeks before our departure they cancelled our holiday, which we had booked 8 months earlier, saying they overbooked flights. Ended up costing £800 for same holiday and lot of stress to book last minute flights, taxi, hotel.

The hotel has good facilities, good food the manager of the hotel is always in touch with what is happening in the hotel.the pool is clean. the rooms are clean. the only minus point that we'll be maybe for some people is that the hotel is not close to the beach is the 3 rd line but as the hotel has the rest very good i assume that the distance can't be such a big problem.

Booked for short break in golden sands. Hotel staff dealt with people in appropriate manner. Booked a room for three adults + one child, booked superior double - given a double room with two chair beds. Moved rooms only to be given the same one and told hotel full so would have to put up with it, chair bed very uncomfortable for adult but fine for child. Unable to get pool view room as requested as these seem to be only double rooms we were placed along the side of the hotel and had no view with tiny balacony that could only fit two chairs on. We had no view as a very large tree covered the third floor and beyond Hotel itself clean, pool very clean. Childrens daytime entertainment the same every day would get on your nerves a bit if there for two weeks. Food at hotel good but same type of food everyday. Pool bar fine and staff helpful. Last orders for hotel bar is 23.00 hours so bit of a mad rush to get served as some people ignore the que and dive straight to front. Quite a lot of steps to get to pool the lift does go down to the pool but very slow as on -2 level.
