“Hell!!”

I was given this hotel as an alternative and thought that upon reading the reviews it was going to be good, how wrong was I...............

We arrived at the hotel about 5 in the morning was met by a friendly receptionist who's english was understandable and given our room key. The room looked nice and thought that this was going to be comfortable for the week stay.

We were told of the times for breakfast, lunch & tea and went downstairs at 9 in the morning only for the restaraunt to have no food!!! we thought that maybe we might have misheard the opening time so went to the snack bar for some food....how they can call wasp & fly infested food edible is mad, I had 2 cold chips that looked like they were just cooked and no more. We thought that lunch might be better there was nothing there that looked like it was fresh and edible so we went to the local shop and bought some crisps and chocolate as we were starving by this point. I went for a shower and nearly flooded the bathroom as both the toilet & shower leaked so it was as quick as you could be in the shower then out. Dinner was errmm discusting and cold so nothing was eaten then.

The next day we decided to go and speak to reception to see what they could do and how much it would be to keep our room as out flight was at 5 in the morning. They guy there didnt speak English so was very hard to tell him what we wanted he then told us it would be 115 LEV to keep the room from 12midday to 12midnight. We then spoke to a woman who wse found very rude and she said we could get it for 80LEV. We told her about the food and also the bathroom and asked what would be done about it and she said nothing so we said we wanted to leave. She become unhappy about that as id said to her that the hotel was more like a 2 star than a 4 star I wouldnt feed my dog the food it was that bad - other people on the plane stayed at that hotel and they had to pay to eat out everynight. The hotel was also about 2km from the heart of Sunny Beach this hotel was right a the beginning so there was nothing to do.

The next day we contacted out Travel Operator and asked to be moved as explained what had happened and they said they would try and get us another hotel but said could take a while and within 3 hours we were in another hotel called the Tiara Beach Iberostar which WAS a 4 star.

My advice would be to think long and hard about the Imperial Hotel before booking.

“Never again!”

We were really looking after a nice, pleasant and realxing holiday and what we've found was an extremely stressful and irritating one. First of all the staff is very rude, you have to pay almost for everything (the hotel car park which is tiny comparing to the 300*400 rooms they have -they can only accomodate around 25-30scars,the sun beds on the beach, internet, spa/ massage facilities etc). The food is absolutely a nightmare, no diversity at all and you have to queue for ages for a pancake or for a slice of pizza which is desgusting anyway. The drinks are diluted and have no taste or alcohol. Staff spoke very little english or no english at all. Very dissapointed and I wouldn't recommended to anyone.

“this is not a 4 star hotel by any standards (even Bulgarian)”

Confused personnel, little or no English, extensible sofa/couches covered with mold in a few apartments we checked ( after complaining), bed sheets with a bad odor, front desk manager and receptionists hard to talk to. Bad odor circulating through the sewer/drains, ...the list could go on. The charge for the package was pretty, the services were not

I really enjoyed my holiday there for a week and wish i went for longer. The food was great in the snack bar with pizza, crepes and waffles made right in front of you and there was always chips and salad. I adored all of the staff especially the bartenders and animation team, so much so that if i knew it was them again next year i would book it now! The beach is very close and lovely and a little train takes you to the centre of town so the location is brilliant if you ever want to leave the hotel as sometimes the entertainment gets a little poor but there is lots to do outwith the hotel at night, discos go on till about 6am some nights along the beach! It was just a brilliant experience and i really miss the happieness of the likes of eva and jimmi, im not too sure the names of the animation boy and other bartenders in amfora where i actually stayed but they were brilliant i think one was veeley and sheppie?
