“Fab friendly clean hotel close to beautiful sandy beach”

My husband and I along with our 2 children aged 2 and 6 stayed at hotel Druzba in Albena. The hotel was just what we wanted - not too expensive but very close to the beach . Our room was lovely and clean ( cleaners on the go all day and very friendly too ! ) lovely safe balcony with sea view . The bar downstairs did great food and had a good band in the evening for people and kids to dance along to. The hotel doesnt have its own swimming pool but there are loads nearby which we could use but we spent most time down the beach !!

Albena resort is perfect for families. The beaches are sandy and clean and not overcrowded like spain etc . Its a childrens paradise for entertainment - bungee , bouncy castles , bouncy slides , bumper cars , mini golf and loads of other things too.

We had a great holiday and are looking forward to going back next year !!!

“This is Grim”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2008

A shabby, basic and budget type of hotel in desperate need of modernisation. Our room (6th floor) was clean but small and had a balcony with distant sea view. No aircon and very hot at night. The constant thump thump of local discos etc reverberated around the adjacent hotels in varying degrees of intensity and up to 4.00am on occassions. The shower was good and hot but the bathroom was stuffy and hot with the door shut. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful but breakfast at the nearby Dormostor hotel was a nightmare.

A huge depressingly dismal dining room, very hot with no aircon, dirty, uncleared tables, queues to get a seat, surly unsmiling staff who could not cope, loud music blasted from a music system and general decor from a sixties student halls of residence. Hygiene standards questionable with dirty cups, plates and cutlery, all of which kept running out so you were forced to stand and wait for the means to collect your breakfast. A good choice of food but with little labelled in English. Coffee machine with no English instruction.

A really 5th rate and unpleasant experience. It seemed to be full of Russians and Romanians who appeared to accept this treatment as the norm. They have a long way to go to bring this shambles up to a 3 star UK standard.

The hotel is friendly, clean, in an ideal spot near the beach and the bars, my balcony had a wonderful sea view, and everything was perfect.
