I just got back from amemorable trip to Sri Lanka, and this hotel was by far the worst managed establishment that I had come across.
We arrived at 4pm and after being told by reception that they had no record of our (paid-up) booking, we kept waiting for 4 hours for a room to become available. The Manager and Director of the resort were too busy entertaining their family and friends who had spent New Year's eve at the resort, to bother with us, so it was left up to the recpetionist to run around and try to sort out a room for us. Eventually we were given a room which was hastily cleaned and over-run with mosquito's, ants and geckos. After refusing to take the room, we were 'upgraded' to a duplex located at the far end of the resort.
Thinking that this would be better, we soon found out that it was not, and that most of the amenities did not function in the room or bathroom. Toilet lights did not work, showers were old and run-down, hot water ran out too quickly, No phones, room service, or contact with the reception desk.
The Mananger ( Piero) is a joke.... always sitting in the restuarant in shorts and t-shirt.... extremely unprofessional, and will promise you everything in 10 mins, but never delivers. Took him almost 2 days to arrange for an internet dongle so that we could have acces to e-mail.... Didn't even bother to great guests checking in or out, or even attend to any issues.
A positive is that the beach outside the resort is really wonderful although it could do with a clean-up.
everything about this resort is a scam, don't waste money on it like we did!!!!!!
