“Great Decor and Great Hot Tubs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

This was my first stay here. I didn't have a reservation and was looking for a ground floor room. I have to say that the decor in the room was great right down to the colour scheme and picture above the beds. They were something I might choose myself. We had a huge flat screen HDTV, a fridge and microwave. The bathroom, however, was quite small. Two people would not be able to use it at one time. The room itself was large with a door opening onto the courtyard. Right outside our room was a hot tub, one of four, I think. The imitation rock walls around it afforded privacy. It was as if we had our own hot tub along with a table and chairs which were also lovely. After a long day and big supper, the hot tub was most welcome. They served hors d'oeuvres from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the breakfast area next to the courtyard. We checked it out after 7 p.m. and there wasn't much left. It looked like they had served chili and small buns, tacos and dip and I don't know what else. The breakfast was the usual with the waffles, etc. I hadn't stayed in Grand Forks for quite a few years and was surprised about all the taxes. That being said, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a ground floor room opening onto the courtyard. The pool is separate and glassed in so t...

“Keep coming back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

I have stayed here atleast once or twice a year for the past couple years. I have always left happy. The rooms are a good size. Always clean. They have hd t.v. (some even have DVR's). When I've stayed on weekends the pool area is very busy. On the weekdays it's nice and quiet. The continental breakfast is pretty good. Lot's of options. Plenty of free parking. The hotel is close to the main drag for dining and getting downtown.

“Not as good as in previous visits - going downhill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

We've stayed at this Inn every year for quite a number of years, and we were very disappointed this time. The pool was great, but every hot tub had broken jets (some had no jets working at all!). Rooms are surface clean, but there are cracks in the bathroom and worn areas on the rugs. Light bulbs burned out, the fake trees need some dusting, and very dirty waffle and pancake makers in the breakfast area. Looks like it needs some TLC and some staff that cares about the customers - come on people, smile or talk when we talk to you! We won't be back.

“Beautiful hotel but room was dirty.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

At first glance this hotel seems very nice, which is partly true. Beds were comfortable and plush but that was it. The ceiling had many brown water damage streaks and spots, TV screen was all smeared from someone "attempting" to clean it, nail polish had been painted on the nightstand, 2 towels in the bathroom were dirty even though they were folded on a clean stack, we only had one washcloth, and the shampoo/conditioner etc. was partially used. Not worth the price this place charges.

“Run down hotel. Don't be fooled by there claims of 2 pools, AC, hot breakfast AND 5 hot tubs... You will be disappointed.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

We are seasoned travelers. I travel for a living staying in various types of hotels. I stay in hotels about 10 days a month.

We stayed here about 8 years ago and it was good back then... Stayed here in July 2011 for thankfully just 1 night.

The room was dirty. Bandages in the bathroom. I don't think they've swept the floor or dusted in days. There was a ring of dirt around the bathtub. I didn't even want to step in there to shower. It was horrible. The bathroom was a mess.

The "AC" did not work. Yup, super hot out and NO AC. We bought some fans from Wal-Mart and got the room down from 78-75. Was so hot we could barley sleep.

The beds- 1 of them didn't even have a sheet. When we called down to the front desk they brought us up a wrinkled ball of a mess of a sheet. We had to smell it to make sure it was even clean then we had to re-make the bed ourselves.

Hot Breakfast????? Where? There was waffles and pancakes. Not the "hot breakfast" we thought. Spend the extra money and stay at the Holiday Inn express and get a REAL hot breakfast. The Oj was so watered down, it barley looked like OJ.

5 hot tubs? Only 3 were working. The others were drained and not working. 2 pools. Wait.... You mean 1 pool with another pool right next to it that's smaller than a king sized bed.

The location is great and that's the only thing this hotel has going for it. There is also so many hotels on 32nd ave to stay at.

Please do not stay here. It's past it's prime. Front desk is not helpful (as hotel was full). Misleading advertising. Stay somewhere else. Run down dirty place to stay.

Disgusting.
