Thi is my second review of this hotel. Normally this is far from my first choice when syaing in Fargo, but we were attending a convention hosted here with children and extended family and wanted everyone together so we could concentrate on business.
Normally when one attends a convention, you expect a discount "block" rate. I found that through a few different calls to reservations that I was actually getting bilked $15.00 per room MORE than as a convention attendee than their regular nightly rate on the same date and poolside room. When I mentioned this to the lady at reservations, she was clearly embarassed.
This hotel is convention and hockey game central for Fargo. The employees do a good job of overseeing all this (I mean, there was a guy polishing the wainscotting in the halls on a Sunday morning at 7:00 am!) It has been remodeled beautifully, has to be one of the highest maintained hotels I have ever seen, and is a nice place if you need to keep the entire family happy during a hotel stay. Restraunt was quite high priced but offered some very tasty dishes.
This place is still crazy busy and noisey, not the hotel's fault, and I would have been far more impressed with my last stay if it was'nt for the deception at reservations. Games and conventions are this place's main survival, and I am sure I am not the first person to caatch that little trick.
