“Tiniest room ever”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

I reserved a room with one queen bed for my daughter and myself. When we got to the hotel, I asked the front desk clerk if there was any way to upgrade to a room with 2 beds?
She said yes, but proceeded to book ANOTHER hotel room with 1 bed. What part of 2 beds did she not understand? I don't want 2 separate rooms . . . just 1 room with 2 beds. So then she said NO, they were sold out . . . no other rooms. So we agreed to take the room with 1 bed and deal with it since we were only staying 1 night anyhow. I just have to say, this was the smallest hotel room I've ever seen. Literally enough room for the bed and dresser and nothing else. It was even difficult to walk around the bed it was so cramped. The bathroom was equally cramped, but interestingly enough, it had an oversized shower stall (no tub). I think they could have devoted more room to the actual "room" itself and skipped the oversized shower. The only positives about this hotel were A) the location and B) the cont'l breakfast (although the breakfast area was extremely crowded). Also, I noticed that the carpets were pretty threadbare and/or stained throughout the property, including our room. Not impressed.

“Better than expected!”

We stopped in Fargo on our way to Minneapolis. We needed a cheap place to stay for the night, so this hotel fit our needs. A typically cheap hotel/motel (either Motel 6 or Super 8) in the area was only $5 cheaper than the Sleep Inn. This hotel seemed clean on the inside and outside. No bathtub, only a shower. It didn't smell or seem dirty in the room. There's an indoor hottub, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was muffins, bagels, english muffins, cereal, doughnuts, waffles, orange or apple juice and milk. Very close to Wal-Mart, mall, restaurants, ect.

“Very Pleased”

The room we stayed in was small but very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were also. No bathtub, just a shower, but it was clean and had plenty of water pressure and hot water. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were lots of places at which to eat nearby, as well as a complementary breakfast offered by the hotel. All that was needed was there. It was a great value for the money. We had an AARP discount, so paid just over $57 dollars including tax. I would absolutely stay there again!

“A pleasant surprise for the price. Nice and close to the mall.”

Booked this hotel as an overnight stop between Minneapolis and Winnipeg. We were very pleased with the bed as it was really really comfortable. The room was definitely small, but it was just a one "queen" bed (pretty sure that it was actually a double though). No closet, which was kind of weird, but there was still an armoire to hang things in. No tub, only a shower, but not a surprise given the size of the room. If you were spending more than one night, I would probably spend the $5 extra and get a bigger room though. Room was very clean and it seemed like it might have been renovated fairly recently. Some downsides to note, first of all, hotel advertises warm cookies in the evening. If they were out, we didn't find them. Didn't bother me much, except that their website goes out of the way to mention it. The only real beef that we had with this hotel was the breakfast. It only goes until 10am (even on weekends). Make sure that you get there at least 15 minutes before that! The breakfast woman was very rude & clearly just wanted to be out of there at 10 am. We came in for breakfast just after 9:30 and they were out of waffle mix. We asked at the front desk & she brought out 4 more cups. When we asked for maybe a couple more, since there were at least 5 of us who wanted waffles actually present in the room, the woman didn't respond and left. At exactly 10am, she shut off all the waffle maker and took away all of the food. Like I said, if you want to eat, make sure that you get there early or you will be SOL. I have been in lots of places that will stretch breakfast cutoff a bit or maybe wait until people that are standing there have taken their food. Don't expect a courtesy like that here, unless they get a different breakfast lady. Maybe this one was just a temp or having a bad day? Anyways, I still definitely recommend this hotel, just maybe not the breakfast... Oh, also forgot, no fitness center in the hotel itself, but guests have access to one across the street at a sister hotel (I think it was the Staybridge Suites).

“A little rough, but a good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2010

We paid $55 a night for 3 nights on an impromptu trip to Fargo. Ultimately, the place is a little rough, but clean. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for this tier of hotel. The room could use some refreshing as the paint and bathrooms are a bit dated and in some cases needing repair. Not a fan of the florescent lights above the bed head boards, but not a deal breaker. I'd recommend it for anyone that needs a good deal and will be passing through. Not a place I'd stay again for 3 nights straight for for 1-2 nights on a budget it would be perfectly acceptable.
