I have stayed at this hotel in the past and love the large deep swimming pool and pool area. However, it looks like it needs a good deep cleaning. My kids commented on how dirty the tiles in the pool looked (and they did) people scratched initials in the build up or whatever it was. The rooms also need some maintenance and revamping. There were ittle things like a big flap of the wallpaper hanging loose in our room; and a crusty dirty tooth brush holder on the wall which I'm pretty sure nobody would use. It was a nice hotel in it's day and could be again if they did some remodeling and updating. The continental breakfast was decent.

This is the second time we stayed at HoJos in Fargo. Although It is located in the downtown area and is quite a ways from the more popular shopping areas, it is close to the park-like area bordering the Red River so there are convenient trails for walking. The service provided by the front desk was good and our room was neat and clean. The only disappointment was the hot tub. It needed cleaning, badly. There was a ring around the tub and lots of floating bits in the water. However, the ample hot breakfast included with the price of the room meant we left feeling satisfied that we will come again.

Not a 5 star hotel, but it was clean, quiet, had refrig and microwave and new beds... great restaurant and bar attached... free parking in downtown and I have now made this my business HQ when in Fargo... Great and helpful front desk people, too.

All in all, this was a very bad stay. I got in late and was given a room that was very very smoky. I realized that I could not sleep in it and asked for a new room. Attempt #2 was slightly worse. Attempt #3 was better. In the morning, things really went down hill. My toilet flooded the entire bathroom and made a terrible mess. There was no hair dryer in the room. Then my TV quit. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
