“Your average holiday inn. Nice staff.”
Nothing special here, but a good place to lay your head after driving for hours across the barrenness (and beauty) of the Dakotas. The front desk woman was very positive and fun, answering questions honestly and seeming to genuinely enjoy her job. The pool was nice, but seemed to be more directed towards kids...as there's a HUGE water slide. Being an idiot 27 year old, I thought it would be fun to try the slide out. As an adult, I would recommend that you steer clear of it and leave it to the kids. I'm not exactly a wimp, but I was screaming like a baby and my mom was afraid I was going to fly off of it. Trust me, it's faster and more petrifying than it appears on first glance. Not sure that it was built for people over 150lbs. But if you have kids, they will absolutely LOVE it!
The room was very nice and clean. No complaints there. I wish it had had a mini fridge, but other than that it was just fine. The fitness center, however, was kind of a bust. Both of the treadmills appeared to work at first, but a few minutes of investigation showed that neither of them were 100% functional. The elliptical was new, however, so I used that. Unfortunately, though, there was a giant window between the gym and the pool, so unsupervised children could bang on the glass and ogle while you were working out. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.
Breakfast was touch and go. Good cinnamon rolls, really disgusting powdered eggs. Plenty of variety, though, so you won't go hungry.
