“GREAT ROOMS, LOCATION, SERVICE & FOOD”

Spent 3 nights at the Rosehill Inn B & B in Wilmington, NC. The location is perfect....within walking distance to the water and in the historic district. Innkeepers, Bob & Patricia, and son Sean, were very hospitable. The breakfasts were delicious; none of the run-of-the mill fare...very gourmet! The Carolina Room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The two sitting rooms and dining rooms were gorgeous and also very welcoming. I'd recommend this B & B to anyone...only one complaint....located on a busy street so would suggest a room in the rear of the home.

“Fantastic B&B on a very active street...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

The home is beautiful and the innkeepers are very nice. Breakfast was gourmet and they went out of their way to honor dietary restrictions! Rooms were VERY clean and well appointed. House was in close proximity to walk to everything in Downtown Wilmington. However, our room (Heritage) was located on the front of the house and the street noise (cars, traffic, pedestrians, etc) were VERY LOUD and obnoxious. It may have been quieter in the back of the house (but that is locaed on an alleyway.. so not sure). It's unfortunate, the room is so lovely but we did not get a restful night's sleep here. I even went out and bought earplugs after night #1 and was able to rest better night #2. But my husband finds earplugs very uncomfortable so he was disturbed by noise both nights. There was even a couple having a domestic dispute under out window and the innkeepers had to call the cops. Again, unfortunate because it's not the innkeepers fault and it's out of their control... but it did affect out overall impression of the location.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the back corner of the house. furthest away from street or alley

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

We have just returned to the UK after 4 weeks of travelling in Virginia, North and South Carolina and can honestly say that we would like to have spent more time in Wilmington. Sean was very welcoming and informative on our arrival and we soon met Tricia and Bob who are really lovely people. Their home is beautiful and very conveniently situated for all the town has to offer....and there is a lot. Much more than we thought or had time for.
The breakfasts were amazing and their suggestions for trips, restaurants and onward travel plans were really helpful.
We loved it and will visit again one day.

“Lovely, gay-friendly B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

I'll start by saying that this was our first time staying at a B&B. I'd always been reluctant to stay in someone else's home. This experience changed my thinking about B&Bs.
The inn-keepers, Bob and Trisha, made us feel very welcome from the moment we set foot into their beautiful, historic home.
The room was very large and comfortable, but bright. The window shades didn't do much to block the morning light. If you're not an early riser, pack some eye shades.
Breakfast was incredible. Each day we were treated to a remarkable feast of fresh ingredients prepared in a manner that would be suitable for royalty. They even made sure to provide alternatives for dietary restrictions and allergies. Fantastic!
The inn is conveniently located only a few blocks from Wilmington's famous river walk, teaming with restaurants, shopping, sight-seeing tours, and live music.

Room Tip: Make your reservations by phone.
