“Overpriced with poor service.”

An overpriced hotel. We stayed at this hotel over the Thanksgiving holiday. I selected it because all rooms were suites, complete with a separate sleeping area, living room and kitchenette. Upon arrival, noticed the room and furnishings were average, almost a little out of date but acceptable. All rooms have a balcony with a good view of the Battleship and Coast Guard station. Hotel is right next to Cotton Exchange and other fun places. Wireless network in room kept giving us problems. Had to call the front desk twice with no resolution. Heating/AC system wasn't working so thank goodness the outside temp was comfortable. Tech came to look at the AC thermostat and said he could come back to work on it further...never showed up. Even though this is "part" of the Hilton across the street, you are basically on your own. Had the feeling throughout my stay that we were the outcasts versus those staying in the Hilton. No continental breakfast, no bar, no restaurant, no pool, no room service. Parking cost $9 per day. Overall, the room was ok but too pricey...price should have been around $100 per night instead of $140. If you only want a basic room with a view and don't plan to spend much time in it, this hotel may work for you, but next year we'll spend a few dollars more and get a suite or junior suite at the Hilton across the street which has full service with all the amenities.

PROS: Suite with separate bedroom, Kitchenette, Balcony view, Quiet area,
Located in good shopping area. CONS: Too pricey, Poor internet service, Some appliances didn't work or were outdated, No pool, gym, bar or room service, No continental breakfast, Poor overall service.

Thank you for your recent stay and your feedback.
I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience.

This property is private, individually owned, condominium units. We do not have full service hotel amenities on site, however these units are attractive to many for what they do offer, Kitchens with stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, full washers, dryers, river view balconies, living rooms with pull out sofas flat screens TV's an unbeatable location in downtown and so much more.

Thank you again. It is a great little place to stay, however we do apologize it was not what you expected.

“A little different, but not a bad option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011 via mobile

The Suites are efficiency condos operated by the Hilton across the street. Very nice furnishings, spacious for hotel rooms and you get a balcony with a great view of the river and the battleship. They are surprisingly inexpensive.

The biggest problem I had was that they are unmarked and I had to pull out the confirmation to figure out that I needed to check in at the Hilton. Also, the suites don't have any of the normal hotel amenities - fitness room, pool, wi-fi, business center, restaurant. All of these are available at the Hilton, but that's not very convenient. Suites are a great place to spend a night, but you'd probably want more if you were in Wilmington on a vacation for a few days.

Thank you for your recent stay and your review.

We are aware the signage is challenge. Because these are privately owned condos, we can not put any additional signage on the building. Although not located on property, Riverview Suite guests can take advantage of all the amenities at the Hilton Across the street. Ruth's Chris & Innovations Restaurant, Fitness & Business Center, Coffee Shop, Outdoor Pool and more....

Thank you again, we hope to see you back soon.

Happy Holidays!

“Just amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

This was just beautiful, right on the riverfront with large balcony . close to downtown and great restaurants. Fully equipped with anything and everything you need! And at a great price! And if you wish to stay there but can't pay in advance just book online to make a reservation! Also please note : if you do book you check in at the Hilton hotel not at the suites!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!!!!

“Would stay here again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This is a condo that is managed by the Hilton across the street. That's what I loved about this place (a condo), it was more like a home than a hotel. There is a living/kitchen area that is separate from the bedroom. The bedroom was a little crowded, but who cares all we did was sleep there. The location is great, right on the river. We could see the Battleship from our balcony. My only complaint is there was no wi-fi connection. Be aware, you check in at the Hilton across the street, no major biggie.

“"Good place to stay"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I was a little worried given folks either really like or really dislike this place on their reviews. The Hilton staff was very nice and it was explained where to park and how to get in the building. (others have said that didn't happen for them). We had a room on the 8th floor and the view was AMAZING. The room was very clean. The location allowed for easy walking to most everything we wanted. My only "complaint" would be that the mattresses in the bedroom and pullout weren't very comfy. Everything else you needed for an efficiency suite was there (it did not have the feel of a hotel room at all). The location is great but as others have said, you do have the Front Street noise at times (we didn't have any problems though). Also we did not have the issue with noise through the walls either. We are planning on staying there again.

Room Tip: Stay in the rooms on the higher floors.
