My husband and I stayed here on Memorial Day weekend. We chose it for its close proximity to where I was having a musical performance. Everything in the downtown area is walkable from here, so this location is optimal. It was so nice to see there was a small parking area, as it looked as if parking is at a premium here in Wilmington in this part of town. Upon entering this inn, you feel as if you have left all your cares outside. The decor is upscale--which was a refreshing change from many of the B & B's we have experienced in the south that have frilly, ruffly, country type of decor. We were comfortable with the owners, who were very hospitable upon our arrival, and who explained with maps where we could find good restaurants. Our room was very elegant, although there was one little issue with no window covering on the top part of the window. At night the street lights were bright and the amount of light coming into the room was kind of uncomfortable. (Our room faced the street) If they fixed that little flaw, the room would have been perfect. (This is why I did not give it five stars--) Our stay was over a holiday weekend and many people were out partying, and this was going on until the wee hours of the morning... naturally this made sleep next to impossible. (Front Street is a busy thoroughfare) This was only on Saturday night, however. The following two nights of our stay were quiet. The owners were very apologetic about the noise outside on that one night, but there is really nothing they can do about it! The breakfasts are very cozy, and there is a nice selection of cereals or home made quiche, bacon, etc. There is also a little bar where you can get drinks (water, wine, etc) and pay for whatever you buy on the honor system. We were very impressed and so happy that our stay was pleasant. If we go back to Wilmington, we will stay here again.
