I was able to get a room for a ridicously low price- so I can't complain much. It is a small town, and not many hotels to offer (but you can go over to the next town that does have some larger chains). Extremely convenient- right off 95!
I was in town with my husband and kids for 2 nights for a wedding. I arrived extremely late (5am) and my check in was very cold and uninviting (At that point, I was SUPER tired and just wanted to sleep). My husband commented that from the outside, it looks like a "cheap motel". Inside, the room was a good size (I had a room with 2 doubles) and clean (that's what I primarily care about). The beds are TRULY a double- so took some getting used to for my husband and I.
I did go down to the lobby for the complimentary breakfast (served from 6a-10a). The bagels were stale- but ok after I toasted them. My kids didnt complain much about the donuts/danishes. However, the next morning, I noticed the SAME pasteries were being served from the day before- nothing new was added (first day, I ate late; second day, I ate early- so unlikely chance they were just all eaten). Granted, they were covered, but I was surprised to see that a new stock wasn't added. I just stuck to the oatmeal that point because then I was more scared thinking how long my bagel from the day before had been "recycled"
Also, before I left for breakfast on the first day, I put out a "Do Not Disturb", but when I returned it was gone, and later my husband told me housekeeping woke him up at 9am (remember- we got there at 5am- the ENTIRE reason why I put out the DND). They did it again the next day (our check out date) when check out is at 11am.
Overall- not horrible. Just wouldn't spend a lot of money to stay there.
I was also offered a no obligation travel service and decided to opt in because I was promised $40 in cash voucher to use towards the room or gas. WRONG! I got the packet AFTER my stay (and I booked 3wks in advance)- and NO VOUCHERS for the room/gas. Instead, I had something for a 5% cash rebate on my room (not even worth the stamp) and rental car coupons. And during the sell- I was told I had 24/7 customer service access. Nope- there is a 24/7 RESERVATION line- but even the customer service hrs are wrong (the card says 10a-7p on Sundays. I called at 1pm and got a "sorry, we are closed." recording). DEFINITELY can not wait to cancel this service!!
