First: if you're expecting everything to be shiny, perfect and like new, DON'T STAY AT A B&B. That was the disclaimer--this is an OLD house complete with all the quirks (squeaky floors, narrow staircase, etc.) and the charms (pretty, wood floors, etc.). The owners have it outfitted with antique furniture, including in the parlor. It may seem a little expensive given the location isn't actually in Asheville, but once you roll the innkeepers' hospitality and made from scratch breakfast (muffins, multi-grain waffles, frittata, fresh fruit, good teas and coffees...) into the price it's quite fair. We only stayed for two nights, but we really enjoyed ourselves. We were in the Kiser room, and it was pretty. If you require absolute darkness to sleep, perhaps you should pick a room with less windows. We didn't ever make it back to the Inn in time for the evening refreshments, so can't comment there. Breakfast was a wonderful experience with the ability to sit down and chat with other travelers over a delicious home-made morning feast. Dan and Nancy were lovely hosts and willing to work with us on dietary restrictions. My only complaint is the Wi-fi--it might be free, but it didn't really work so it was almost useless to us. I wonder if it has to do with the location of the house or maybe it's age??? I recommend checking out the website and giving it a go :)
