“Friendly Hosts, Comfy B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My husband and I just got back from a weekend stay at Brookside Mountain Mist. We were in the Hickory Hills room, which was incredibly spacious. The bed was huge and comfy, and the room had a gas fireplace which we took advantage of quite a bit. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and I worked with Carolyn to add some special treats to our room every day; she was happy to honor all of my requests. We also took advantage of breakfast in our room one morning; that was definitely a plus. The food was yummy and plentiful. I especially enjoyed Dina’s baked goods. (If I had regular access to them I’m sure my skinny jeans would never fit again.) The living room area also had a gas fireplace and comfy couch, and offered lovely mountain views. The landscaping was beautiful; it’s obvious they’ve taken great care with it. We were hoping to be able to take advantage of the fireplace deck one night, but the weather wasn’t very cooperative – we picked a rainy weekend.

The location is convenient to downtown Waynesville. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, and more a short drive away. Unfortunately some of them were closed since it’s the slow season. But that just gives us an excuse to come back later and explore some more. We spent a good deal of our time in Asheville, which was an easy 30 minute drive away.

Overall we had a pleasant stay. We felt comfortable and at home at Brookside. Carolyn and Dina are friendly down-to-earth hosts, and I hope we get to see them again soon!

We've stayed at Mountain Mist on three different occasions. Carolyn and Dina do a tremendous job in making us fell welcome, providing great food, recommending sights to see in the area, and just adding all they can to a very pleasant experience.

“Wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Mountain Mist B&B was a great experience. The owners did a great job in decorating for the holidays, including a Christmas tree in our bedroom. The food could not have been better. Our needs were met beyond expectations and the service was outstanding. It was a great place to relax, reflect, enjoy friends and venture out to visit the local area. I am going back in October, and would recommend this B & B to anyone.
Thanks for the great experience!

“Great B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I would recommend this B & B to anyone! Carolyn and Dina are wonderful ladies that ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. This is the second time that we have stayed at the B&B in the past year. In fact, last time we even stayed an additional night because we were having such a great time. The food is to die for and the hostesses truly are a delight!

“What a great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This was our first visit to Brookside, and we just loved it! When Carolyn greeted us at the door, we knew this was going to be a great place to stay. The Inn is warm, cozy, clean, and comfortable, with nice amenities and special options, like Biltmore Estate, golf, wine, and spa packages. They also have discounts available at local restaurants. We stayed three nights in the Hickory Hills room, which is large with a remote control fireplace and a nice sized bathroom. Dina's breakfasts were fabulous, and her afternoon goodies in our room were a nice welcome home after a day out. We appreciate the in-room refrigerator to keep our own drinks in. There is also a common area to "serve yourself" cold drinks, tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. They have interesting books and movies (with popcorn!) and wonderful outside areas, including a fireplace deck, for your enjoyment and relaxation. The landscaping is such that you almost forget you are in a residential neighborhood; very relaxing to just sit and watch the birds and squirrels. The living room is like going over to a friend's house - not at all stuffy, very welcoming, and comfortable furniture. Carolyn and Dina have done a fantastic job at making their Inn a splendid place to stay, offering genuine hospitality and excellent service. We enjoyed spending time with them and we look forward to our next stay...very soon! Check out their website to see all the details, pictures, and things to do in the area. If you're planning a trip to the Asheville or Smoky Mountains area, try the Brookside - you'll be glad you did!

Room Tip: The Hickory Hills room is a large room, and is on the kitchen/living room side of the house by itsel...
