Looking like it's almost new, the Wallace, NC Holiday Inn Express is a very comfortable place to stay. Front desk staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Check-in was easy. Was able to upgrade to a suite (#129), which was very pleasant, indeed! Its only drawback was being next to the ice, vending machines and a door -- rather noisy. However, the upside was no freeway traffic noise! The room was very clean and contained a comfortable king bed, two flat-screen TVs, clock radio, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, two extra tables, sofa, coffee table and Internet connection (free ethernet) instructions. It also boasted a bright, spacious bathroom with spa tub with soft towels. Breakfast was served in a clean, very nicely furnished room in the center and was generous and tasty. All in all, Holiday Inn couldn't have done better. Would definitely stay again.
