“Good Hotel....a couple of tiny improvements needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

I was going to be 5 days on business in Louisburg NC and I was told by my company that I will be staying in the Hampton Inn, Wake Forest (about a 20-or-so minute drive away). I arrived at the Hotel at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and they had no information about me or any reservation, however, after mentioning my contact at the company, they immediately made no fuss and said that they would sort me out a room and that I could check-in immediately ( even though standard check-in time was from 3pm).
The room was clean, quite large had a Queen sized bed, 42” LCD TV with Cable, Microwave oven, medium fridge( not a mini-bar) and standard drawers and wardrobe.
The bathroom was clean, and although not overstocked with “goodies”( shampoo, soaps etc.) was adequate.
The shower curtain had obviously been ripped down in the past and there were 3, poorly filled in holes above the edges of the shower curtain ( i.e. an aesthetically substandard fix-up job). There was also a big crack in the plastic in the shower ( that had also been fixed, but with filler). Nothing overly wrong with the shower, but just poor quality workmanship ( in my opinion).
The room was quiet, with thick enough walls. I was not aware of any noisy neighbors during my 5 day stay. Mine was a back facing room and there was no noise from behind either.
The heating/Air conditioning worked fine and there was enough lighting ( I hate dingy Hotel rooms that aren’t lit up enough!).
The Hotel was in a 3 minute (drive) proximity to restaurants, Supermarkets and bars, as well as shops such as Target, Kohl’s and other department stores.
A complimentary copy of USA Today was outside my door as I opened it in the morning. Breakfast was free and perfectly acceptable: A couple of different coffee’s and teas, fruit juices, cereals, bagels and spreads, yogurts and fruit….basically, a good selection. Plates and cutlery were all disposables. An employee walked around offering more Coffee and OJ for those that wanted it.
One evening I felt like a workout and I spend the best part of an hour in the fitness center. It was empty. There is a treadmill, bike and stair climber. A 42” LCD screen is on the wall, and fresh towels and workout program posters are orderly set out in the room.
Overall the Hotel was good. For the price, I would say bordering on Very good. Employees were courteous, facilities good, room clean and overall a couple of small things that could be improved. I would definitely stay here again if in the area , and I would also recommend it to my colleagues.

“Clean good value for dollar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

Stayed 2 nights on 2 separate occasions recently while visiting in Raleigh area. Beds are comfortable (yes did check for bugs and none found) and rooms was clean...nothing fancy but sufficent. Hotel doesn't appear to have been updated recently; however for the dollar this hotel is a great value. They include a complimentary breakfast that includes lots of choices; fresh fruit, heat & serve pancakes, biscuits, french toast, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, juice and coffee. Coffee could be a bit better but overall not a bad breakfast spread.

“Will never come back”

Room was terribly damp. Rug was wet. Could not walk on carpet because it was wet. Could not close bathroom door. It was swollen from the dampness. Dehumidfier had to be brought in and emptied by US ever six hours to get the dampness out of the room. No other room was offered to us. GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT.

“Very Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

We were allowed to check in early so our grandchildren could swim. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The breakfast selection was good as well as the food was good. The staff were very friendly and we had a very enjoyable stay. I would recommend it to anyone.

“Do you charge for hair and stinch?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

I stayed here one night. When I arrived, there were hairs in the shower and the pillows smelled as if they had not been changed. I am Diamond Hilton and this is not acceptable. I called the Diamond desk and asked about moving properties, unfortunately they were full. The Diamond desk contacted the hotel and they changed the sheets, however I had to clean the shower myself. The night I stayed was Manager Reception NIght. There were a couple of cases of Natural Light and a couple of pizzas. Not really what I was expecting.
