“Terrible food!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

They need to hire a new chef. We got the seafood option and the scallops weren't done. The portions definitely weren't consistent with the people sitting around us. Our friend got the pork, and it was still pink. Last I checked pork was the other WHITE meat when it's not smoked. A terrible dining experience overall that should definitely be tended to seeing that they are a "gourmet" bed and breakfast. The quality and the value don't match at all...

My wife and I have stayed at The 1906 Pine Crest Inn twice now, and both times we have come away very impressed, well-rested, and stuffed from an excellent and complete breakfast.

There are many things that stand out to us that make The Pine Crest a unique and special place. First, the staff is very customer-focused and professional, which is not always the case with a B&B. We always feel welcome to be there right from the outset.

Second, the buildings and accommodations are great, with each room different from the others. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are impressive. I love reading about the various attributes and history of the respective buildings.

The grounds themselves are expansive and beautifully maintained and landscaped. We love just sitting on the wrap-around porch and just relaxing. I would imagine that the 1906 Pine Crest to be an ideal setting for a wedding or family reunion.

We also just love the breakfast. It's not just one thing, take it or leave it. There are choices, which all sound enticing and delicious, and they don't disappoint once you make your choice.

The Pine Crest is an easy drive for us coming from the Atlanta area. We have family in NC as well. Plus, we love Asheville which is only 45 minues or so away. We're also fans of Hendersonville, which is 20-25 minutes up the road.

Plan your next weekend getaway or corporate retreat at the 1906 Pine Crest Inn. You will not be disappointed!

“Lovely, Charming, and Wonderful B&B in Western North Carolina”

Being a guest at the Pine Crest Inn in Tryon NC is a wonderful, unique, and charming experience. From the moment you arrive, you instantly feel you have arrived at a truly special place.

I've treated myself to a retreat here multiple times because I always have a terrific time. Upon arriving to this historic inn, the staff greets you with warm smiles and a welcoming feeling that is unparralled to checking into other establishments. They ensure you receive all of the information you may need during your stay: directions to your room, the weather forecast for the duration of your stay, a comprehensive list of fun activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, a guide to the inn and the grounds, and the notes on the history of the inn - which are fascinating.

The Pine Crest Inn offers many components that make it desirable destination: different free standing buildings with unique, comfortable, and luxurious rooms, a dining room in the main lobby offering delicious 5 star breakfast and dinner, a sommelier to help assist in pairing your dinner with the perfect wine, a cozy bar with a fireplace and books and games and a wrap around porch with rocking chairs that face the gazebo. The Pine Crest Inn always gives their guests the most upscale accommodations paired with a friendly and approachable staff.

I've been there multiple times and have had terrific experiences with each visit. I can't wait to get back to the Pine Crest Inn.

“Warm, Gracious, Historic, and Comfy!”

The overnight at the 1906 Pinecrest Inn was just supposed to be an 'on the way' stop to Asheville, however to my great surprise - it ended up being the highlight of my trip to North Carolina for the first time. I thought the experience here was better than the Christmas Tour at Biltmore - which was my #1 agenda item for this vacation. The private cabins & cottages are a great example of comfortable elegance with fireplaces and beautiful appointments. This historic property feels secluded and private - but if so desired, it is also within walking distance to downtown Tryon. The best part was the food and wine at the restaurant. Our 5 star gourmet dinner was paired with the perfect wines from the extensive Wine Spectator Award Winning list. In the morning the three course breakfast was equally delicious, served piping hot and in abundant portions. What an amazing value and extraodinary experience to come across this charming inn. If your plans include Asheville/Biltmore, the Blue Ridge Parkway, or Tryon - don't miss this luxurious spot nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“Hope it will return to greatness.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

The restaurant was closed. They seemed a little understaffed. Had breakfast in bed, they seemed a little out of practice. They are hoping to get a Head Chef in the near future. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Room was nice.
