“Warm and Cozy Cabins and Friends That Welcome You To Their Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

We have stayed at this lovely hideaway for almost 15 times and we still cannot get enough of the warmness of the cozy fireplaces and the friends that welcome you back.

These cute little cabins were built before there were busy schedules, "dancing with the stars" and highly priced hotels that look like one another. Your first step into these cabins will be a shock. No TV. No Phones but if you wanted that, you could just stay home. This is a place to just be. Just relax.

The cabins are stocked with fire wood for the cold nights or just rely on the electric heat.
The office is filled with brochures and recommendations by the friendly staff. You can base your day trips from this ideal location. Visit Ashville in 45 minutes or take in the casino at Cherokee. Visit the cute little towns of Franklin and Dillsboro for your night out or groceries.

Relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air on your own front porch or fish in their private pond and use their recipe to make dinner that night. They have a rec room that has a TV and movie player for the kids.

This is the place to just breathe and live each minute to its fullest. You will leave on your last day and wonder how the world just got so crazy.

“Restful and comfortable place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2010

We made a last-minute decision to stay in the mountains, and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce let us know there was a vacancy here. We had stayed in the area in 1998 but forgot it's name and thought it was south of Franklin, but we were so pleased to find this was the same place! The cottage was fully supplied, clean, and comfortable, and the folks running the place are really nice and helpful. The trout pond had lots of tasty fish and the kitchen even had a nice variety of recipes. We certainly won't forget the name again, and hope to make this an annual visit!

“nice place but lack of concern for safty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

myself, girlfriend and future mother-in-law waqs having a wonderful time at mountain brook cabins until the porch swing came down on me along with the ceiling. i had extream back and neck pains not to mention two nail holes in my leg. their only response was "it should have held up and do what you gotta do". i considered (and still may do so) contacting a lawyer. they had no remorse or care whatsoever about the accident. the least they could have done is offer another night free or comp that night...but no, no offers for anything. we thought we had found that perfect hidden resort but i will never set foot on the place again

As always, our guests' concerns are our concerns. While accidents do happen, luckily, they rarely happen here at Mountain Brook. We have owned the property since 1979 and are very conscientious about maintenance issues.
We sincerely regret any accident that involves a guest. When we were notified of the accident by our guest we immediatly contacted our insurance company and they gave us guidance in the proper procedure to follow. We encouraged our guest to go to our local Urgant Care Facility or hospital. We gave him ice packs and a heating pad, neither of which were used.
Business owners, especially those in the Hospitality field understand there are legal issues involved in any type of guest accident. As we live in a lawsuit conscious society, our insurance agent advised us to be vey careful.
In viewing the site, there was no rotten wood and everything was in proper working order. It was simply an accident. We have investigated the wood and hooks holding all the porch swings and have made chances where we thought necessary.
As with any accident, the course of the accident is up to the individual, which is why he was recommended that he do whatever he needed to do.

“So Quiet and Relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Brook for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute!
This is a great place to come back to after a dayof hiking or sightseeing.
We sat on the front porch rockers and played cards, had romantic fires in the fireplace next to the jacuzzi tub. It was nice to have the kitchen and barbecue grill so we could cook our meals if we wanted to. There were other activities we could have done on the property, but we were completely happy to have the privacy and quiet of our cottage and the rockers on the front porch. The furnishing are homey and the bed was very comortable.

“Tranquility in the Mountains”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

My family went to WNC for the WCU Homecoming this past weekend. We enjoyed the quiet, and tranquil environment surrounding Mountain Brook. Maquelle and "Poppy" (the most adorable four legged friend) were very welcoming and hospitable. Great place to get away - especially for those of us who are hooked on the Blackberry! :)
