I love tripadvisor & stumbled on these negative reviews of Sleepyhollow. I wanted to add ours for some more positive feedback! We stayed at Sleepyhollow on two occasions prior to our wedding last July. We live about 4 hours away, but fell in love with the Inn from their website. We priced weddings in several different cities, including our own, and could not beat the value for the price at Sleepyhollow. To make sure it was a legitimate place, we went for a visit prior to booking our wedding in August 06. Had a nice stay; pleased with the grounds although surprised at how small. I guess it appeared larger to us on the website? Anyway, our stay was very nice, quiet, and the grounds are just beautiful. The people are friendly but not overbearing. We returned again in Jan 08 while in town to work out other wedding related details. Again, a nice experience. Our room was clean and well decorated. We returned for our wedding in July 08. With the wedding package we selected, our families all stayed at the Inn for the entire weekend (we had use of the entire Inn & all of the rooms + carriage house). EVERYONE raved at what a nice place it was, and how much they enjoyed it. The rooms were great, the Innkeepers accomodating. Regarding the rehearsal dinner & wedding, if there were any problems, I never knew about them. Danrae worked out all the details with the caterers, DJ's, and the like, and the coordination was seamless. My new husband & I extended our stay a couple of days after the wedding in the carriage house, and again, it was fantastic. I suppose there are a few quirks to a privately owned facility, but people run these types of places, not corporations, so some allowance has to be made for the human factor. Isn't that part of what makes a unique experience, versus a cookie cutter Hampton Inn stay that is the same everywhere? We loved it, had a great experience, appreciated all the effort & beautiful wedding pictures.
