“Rustic Charm with an incredible breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2011

Bed, breakfast and goats...what an amazing combination. The Inn at Celebrity Dairy was so unique and interesting. Our room was part of the original 1870's farm house but was wonderfully charming and comfortable. We toured the farm in the morning and were delighted by the goats, guineas and chickens but more delighted by the amazing breakfast. Who knew healthy could taste so good! The breakfast was a carmelized onion and goat cheese omelette, local smoked bacon and fresh biscuits with homemade preserves and goat cheese spreads.

Definitely would recommend the experience!

“Farm chic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

My wife and I just got back from a give-the-baby-to-Grandma-and-get-away night, and loved it! This place is best for those who find a farm atmosphere charming or interesting. The overall aesthetic is nice enough that you feel you're somewhere special, but decidedly "homey" and down-to-earth. Despite the attractiveness of the interior of the Inn, the setting is a real farm, and you feel much more like you're visiting friends than that you're a patron of the tourist industry.

We stayed in Lauren's Room, with the 2-person jacuzzi. It was more spacious than I had expected, and excellent for a romantic night. I poked my nose into the other rooms, and while they all had much smaller bathrooms, I think I would have been happy in any of them.

Some highlights of our stay: stargazing in the clear country night, away from light pollution; seeing the goats being milked; making the acquaintance of the tame peacock and unusually affectionate farm cat that roam the grounds; laughing at the way the free-range rooster walked; of course, breakfast; and talking with the owner about everything from goat milk ice cream to pottery.

Someone commented that breakfast was unremarkable; I suspect they've improved it since then. All the guests and farm employees eat together at a long table. We had omelets made with fresh goat cheese, fried potatoes, and mushrooms, bacon, country ham, and some wonderful melon and other fruit, with orange juice and grapefruit juice. There was also coffee and a wide variety of teas, available any time.

It was really nice to talk to the owner of the dairy at breakfast. In our modern culture, we hardly ever meet the people or animals that provide our food, and in this case we got to do both! The personal connection adds to the feeling of visiting family as opposed to "staying" somewhere.

This would be a very good location for a family with children. They have a room downstairs with some toys and children's books (also a big bookcase full of paperbacks and board games for grown-ups to pass the time). The Suite room could sleep 4, and kids would probably love meeting the animals and just running around the huge farm.

“A vacation and an education”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2009

This was the best B&B I have stayed at! My wife and I stayed with our 16 month old son. All B&Bs advertise their hospitality, but staying here was truly special. We watched the goats get milked and had a thorough explanation of all that was involved in the cheese making process. Later, we sampled some of the cheeses that the farm/dairy produce. My son loved playing with the baby goats and chickens. The setting is so peaceful. We had a blast.

“A wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2008

We wanted a "getaway" that wasn't too far from home (about an hour) - it's a wonderful blend of stepping into the past - original building preserved, attention to blending new sections to it, fireplace, great room, dairy farm - and the modern - comfortable heating even during very cold days (14 degree weather one nite) using partlly geothermal underfloor heating; warm and friendly people; large acreage outdoors for hiking, wandering; delicious breakfast. The goats are terrific - attend a milking 6 am or 6 pm - and visit with the goats and babies (kids) too - I never knew they were so curious and friendly and love to be petted. And wonderful cheese!
We plan to go back regularly! Restful but things to do if you want to.

“Good little B&B”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2005

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Celebrity Dairy in June 2005. We were pleased with the inn. Interesting to see an actual goat farm along with the lamma's. We stayed in Anna Belle's room. Small but cozy room. Breakfast was simple scrambled eggs, tomatoes, corn bread, juice and goat cheese. Not bad, but not great either.
