I contacted the property directly to book . I was attending training with my pet therapy dog and needed accomodation for one night. Relying on the brand name I chose this hotel and spoke with a reservations clerk named Deborah. I told her I would be bringing my dog and asked if that was permitted. She said "he allows it with a $10 payment". I asked what the AARP rate was and she said "59.95 including the pet fee". I asked her to clarify for me that it would be a total of $59.95. She confirmed my understanding. When I checked in the reservation clerk told me the fee was $69.95 with tax $79.77. She told me I had not understood Deborah correctly and she was certain she had not quoted me the rate. The clerk ran my credit card and then proceeded to make a phone call in a foreign language (perhaps an Indian or Pakistani dialect) lasting over ten minutes. She then asked to see my credit card again and poured over it for several minutes. Thinking this was pretty odd, I called my husband and told him to check the credit card receipts. He said that the credit card company fraud unit had already called and the receitpts were being flagged.
I got to the room and was grateful that I had brought clorox wipes, Lysol spray and my own sheets. The room was nasty. There were hairs in the bathtub and on the floor, the rug was heavily damaged and dirty, the room smelled. The sheets and towels were very stained and seedy. The walkways were littered with food, beer cans, and trash. I attempted to call and arrange another hotel but was unable to do so. The National Junior Golf championships had blocked a lot of rooms in the area.
At about 8pm a loud pounding began on the door of the room next to mine. I went out to see what the problem was and a person from the hotel staff was attempting to repair some part of the door. The pounding lasted until after 10pm. Throughout the night the sounds of people coming and going, talking loudly on the walkways was sufficiently loud to be disturbing.
I got up at about five in the morning. There was a group of around fifteen men loitering in the parking area. It made me feel very uncomfortable going out there to walk my dog. I waited until the group dispersed about an half an hour later.
I would never stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone.
