I stopped at the Days Inn in Selma, NC on my way to Myrtle Beach. The coupon book at the travel center is a great way to get a deal on the road. The hotel has been recently remodeled and is in wonderful condition. The beds were so very comfortable!!! Awesome! And the pillows (labeled firm, medium, soft) were in fabulous condition! It was the best sleep ever! The room was very clean and well decorated (not cheesy at all). The tub was in great condition and the bathroom was spotless! In the morning, the breakfast buffet was perfect. They offered 4 different cereals, muffins, fruit, tea and coffee options, sausage patties, scrambled eggs*, Donuts and pastries, grits, etc.....the one complaint I do have is that they used powdered eggs*. They were aweful! I realize it would take some real culinary effort to scramble eggs (NOT being sarcastic) but maybe another alternative would be to offer hard boiled eggs? Other than the eggs (which is NOT a deal-breaker) since there were so many other options to eat. The front desk was very polite, helpful and responsive (even greeted us with a smile). We got the room for $49/night with the coupon. Other people who showed up at the desk paid about $70 +/- without the coupon. I would definitley recommend others to stay at this hotel. P.S. no elevator for the 2nd floor.
Room Tip: grab a coupon from the travel centers to get a great deal!
