“Great Hampton in beautiful NC mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Great Hampton property in the heart of NC waterfall country and scenic moun. Many trails and golf courses nearby. An Ingles grocery store a few miles down the road was convenient for supplies. Property seemed new and room was spotless. Convenient having the wet bar and fridge. It was very windy the night we were there and you could hear the wind whistling right outside our window (probably due to hotel's proximity on the hill). Views were wonderful (splurge for the mountainview is worth it) and the indoor pool was nice for our daughter though the temp was a little cool for her liking (she preferred the hot tub). Breakfast was typical Hampton fare. Like the other reviewer, we walked next door to Cork and Clever and were welcomed graciously by the owner. Great spot for drinks and light fare!

Staff at Hampton was nice, efficient and helpful. Great stay - Thank you.

Room Tip: Mountainview rooms worth the slight additional charge!

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Hampton Inn & Suites-Cashiers/Sapphire Valley. I glad that our area impressed you with the numerous things to do. We like to hear comments from folks that our mountain hotel clean, comfortable, warm and inviting. Our neighbor the Cork & Barrel Restaurant is a great place to sit back, have a drink, a lite meal and best of all you can walk there! I appreciate your kind words and we look forward to your next visit.

“Great place to stay in mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This was our second trip to Cashiers and stayed both times at this Hampton. We have to have an accessible room and theirs works great for us. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very nice. This is the only hotel in the area. Most other places are town houses, condos, or B&B places. We are so happy that this Hampton is here, otherwise we would not be able to come here to visit. We plan to make this at least an every other year trip in the fall and this is where we will stay.

“Manager is very rude”

The hotel is very nice, and extremely quiet and relaxing. However this experience was ruined by the rudest manager I have ever spoken with. Her name is Mary. My fiance and I stayed at the hotel for two nights at $119 a night, we were charged $300 twice by the hotel. When I called to ask about the additional $300 charge Mary got very defensive with me and started to tell me how a debit card works. I informed her that I did not need an explanation on a debit card but wanted the $300 charge resolved quickly. She however put her guard up even further and informed me that it would take a few days to look into. This is not the type of customer service I expected from a hotel run by the Hilton. I have stayed at plenty of hotels for business and pleasure and will not be going back to this one.

“Pricey!”

Nice hotel and friendly desk staff but Mary the Manager is quite RUDE. We requested one nite, stayed one night and were charged for two @162.00 per nite!! Information was entered wrong. I am still hoping to receive satisfaction for the overcharge but not from the rude manager on duty. The room was nice and clean; the breakfast is par for Hampton Inn. I do agree that having one elevator is a mistake (especially because it is very slow) The location is good. It was nice to have a good bed to sleep in after an all day drive on the BlueRidgeParkway (which is worth the drive!)

“Location, Location, Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

This hotel is average at best. The indoor pool is nice (looks like an attachment on the right side of the building). There is one elevator (ok during the week, but when this place is full you notice it more). Half the room views are blocked by the side of rocky mountain. Location is what saves this place.

Room Tip: Gets packed on the weekend. Don't count on the elevator being avail. If a view is important th...
