“This hotel was awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

I stayed in this hotel in November 2010, over one night for a family gathering. My husband and I had our three kids, ages 3, 5 and 12 with us, and we reserved a room with two double beds. The location was good, right off I-85, but that was the only thing good about this hotel. We arrived late at night (10:30pm) to a room, that while had been "cleaned" was terribly run-down. The sink was immediately next to the door, and the caulk was pulling off the wall. The shower curtain was dirty and the tub had not been scrubbed, so it too was slightly dirty. The ceiling had several patched areas, and the window was dirty. There was about two feet of room between the double beds, both of which were pushed up against the opposite walls. There was only about two feet of clearance between the foot of the beds and the dresser and the "coat closet". It was ridiculous! The worst was the roaches I found in the bathroom, and the nasty, questionably clean blankets on the bed. We didn't even use those. If it hadn't been so late, and we hadn't had two young children with us, we would have left immediately. Supposedly, this hotel has a free breakfast, but I was so disgusted I didn't want to eat or drink anything offered by this establishment. Upon checking out the next morning (early!), my husband notified the desk manager about our complaints and the manager did NOTHING except say that they were sorry we didn't have a good experience! I will never stay in this hotel again, and will be extremely wary of ANY Days Inn hotel in the future.

This is the Filthiest place I have ever stayed. Dirty and run down from the start. Terrible breakfast, wi-fi not working, ice machines broke down, lights falling off the walls, remote for tv wrapped in duct tape, carpets filthy, shower pipe sticking way out. managers were very unfriendly, rude, not helpful in fixing problems, pool full of bugs and leaves and smelled bad.do not stay here, you will regret it forever. had reservastions for 2 days , only offered a 15.00 discount for trouble and complaints.

  • Liked — the beds were comfortable
  • Disliked — the FILTH, it was discusting! don't stay here

“Horrid! Do not stay here!”

This is my response to a survey requested by the president/CEO of Days Inn:

The room was dirty upon arrival. Bed linen was dusty. All furnishings dusty. Coffee pot and inside and outside of maker were covered in dust. Room had an overall dusty and mildew smell. There are several plumbing and electrical code violations in this room(and according to the front desk staff all the rooms are the same, so I'm assuming the entire hotel is in violation. Bathroom tub fixture assembly is installed upside down ( you have to turn the water on by pushing down instead of up)and the fixture knob is also broken causing the knob to fall off when the water is turned on. In addition, the tub fixture plate is installed upside down causing the hot and cold to be in reverse order. My child burned herself because of this! The light fixture in the bathroom is also installed against code. It should be a minimum of 12 inches from the shower. While showering, water was splashing into the light fixture and I was able to touch the light while standing in the shower.
When traveling, I always stay at a Days Inn. In fact, the night prior to may stay in Salisbury, I stayed at a Days Inn outside of Atlanta and the 2 days before that I stayed at Days Inn in Charlotte. I was very happy with my rooms prior to the Salisbury stop, but the condition of this one room has made me lose faith in Days Inn. I would rather pay double or triple for a room that is sanitary and safe for me and my children. The only good comment that I can make about my stay in Salisbury is that there was a clean pool to swim in. I will never stay in that hotel again nor will I recommend it to any of my associates. Needless to say, the last 4 nights of my trip were spent at a Holiday Inn Express.

“Horrid”

This was without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever been in...and that includes the Super 8 in Atlanta with the blood on the box spring and the broken chain latch. This hotel has paper thin walls; I heard every single noise above and next to us, at all hours of the night. The staff is (with one exception) incompetent. My reservation was randomly cancelled, and the one exception employee DID find us another room after 25 minutes at the counter. Our friend's reservation was somehow cancelled and then rebooked differently twice, with two different prices and room sizes. When check out came, my father's rooms were all charged to my credit card somehow, and the lady behind the counter was apparently unable to figure out how to remove a charge from one card and put it on another. She also was unable to charge a different card then the one you reserved with; I shared with a friend and wanted to split the two nights onto two cards. You'd have thought I asked her to do something insane and unheard of. Needless to say, she was unable to do it. My out of town father and friend had to write me a check to pay off the credit card that I never actually wanted to charge for the rooms, merely use to reserve them. We came in at one point to a stripped bed and no towels. This is right before a wedding we were getting ready for. The cleaning lady then came in and finished making the bed with us IN the room getting ready. In an already small room, this made for an interesting experience. All and all, service is lackadaisical and unskilled, rooms are tiny and LOUD!! Try somewhere else.

“Very Nice”

Very reasonable rates, and very nice staff. Clean rooms, with coffee pot, iron, hair dryer in room and decent continental breakfast. Only negative was no bath, just a shower, and the room was not brand new - showed a little wear. But I would be happy to stay there any time.
