This is a great hotel to stay at during spring race week in Charlotte, NC as the hotel is north of the Speedway in Salisbury, NC, and thus patrons are able to avoid much of the race traffic congestion heading south into Charlotte. The pool is small but adequate, the breakfast acceptable, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, a good choice.
However, be aware that some of the third floor rooms in this hotel, deemed to be "non-smoking" as of May 1, 2007, have not been satisfactorily cleaned of the smell of smoke. We stayed in one such room, and, as soon as we stepped off the elevator, the smell of smoke hit us. The room was no better in terms of smell. Although the staff tried to clear up the smell with air fresheners, our clothes stunk for days after being in that room. Friends who stayed on the second floor were in a room that really was a non-smoking room. Be sure to ask for a room that has never been smoked in so that you don't end up in one of the "new non-smoking rooms."

We were here on a two night stay to visit nearby Catawba College. We utilized the pull out sofa bed for my son and I was a little disappointed that on the next day the two regular beds were made up, but not the sofa bed. Also the sofa bed was a little worse for the wear with a very thin mattress. Breakfast was fine with a make your own waffle iron, although I had to go to the front desk and ask them
to restock some items. I don't know if there was anyone minding the breakfast bar. We found out after checking in that there was a special rate if you were visiting a college. The reservation has to be made by calling the hotel directly. Since i had made our reservations on line, they would not give us the special rate. Outback Steakhouse is just a walk across the parking lot and the college is a five minute drive away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the college. Be sure to call and ask for the special rate.

We stayed at Comfort Suites in Salisbury, NC for 2 nights. It was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were nice and big, the breakfast bar was terrific and the front desk staff were very kind! The rooms were extra clean -- it was a great stay and we would definitely return! Tina J. was especially helpful at the front desk!

Stayed one night here while passing through town on our way to Charlotte and checking out North Carolina for a possbile re-location. The staff was very nice...free breakfast included in rate and was very nice, fresh and neatly set up. Room was clean and very large. Beds were comfortable and decor was pleasant. The bathroom was clean and plenty of towels. Extra pillows and blankets were in the closet. Room had a separate small living room area and a small kitchenette area with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker full stocked with tea and coffee. Room had hairdryer and iron. Very quiet night. Plenty of parking and the kiddies enjoyed a dip in the pool the next morning before check out. We didn't feel rushed. Plenty of food options right within the same vicinity of hotel and Salisbury is a nice area. And of course the price was right. $65 for one night. Not too shabby!

Would definitely stay here again.
