This place started off bad and then just kept getting worse...
When we arrived to the Highland Valley units we went straight to the office to pick up our keys, and there was no one there to be found (and this is during the Autumn high season). We waited for over 20 minutes until someone came to the counter and she looked at us if we were aliens and what on earth were we doing in her waiting room?
After a few grumbles we got checked into our musty, out-dated cabin. I'm serious, the prints on the wall had all turned to that faded 1970's sea-green colour. And we had to open the windows and doors up to air the place out.
We shared a small cabin with another couple and paid a whopping $360.00 dollars for two nights - and there was nothing included in the kitchen or bathroom: no salt and pepper, no milk, no extra soap, no bathtub, nada. We went to the front desk to ask them for an extra soap and they were seriously put out. We ended up having to go to the local supermarket for milk and other essentials. Everything just reeked of cheapness and being too tight with the purse strings.
We were astounded that these people had the gall to call themselves a four star resort. I have stayed in backpackers in Europe that were more sophisticated and welcoming.

We welcome feedback to initiate upgrades. Units are AAA 3.5 star. Initial supplies of milk, tea, coffee & sugar are provided plus linen, towels & soap. Recent upgrades include bathroom & toilet, new kingbeds, bedspreads, inverter A/C, driers, carpet, cupboards, framed prints, light fittings. Autumn Festival is very busy & the owner is President of the committee.
