Hotel grounds, amenities, location and staff, excellent. Worth the extra money for the deluxe rooms.

We only had time to stay here for one night, which was a pity as While Away and Yeppoon itself are little hidden gems. Lois, the host, is so nice and friendly that we didn't have that feeling that we are intruding which we have found is often the case in B & Bs. There was sherry, tea, coffee, cookies and muffins to be had whenever we wanted, in our own sitting room and kitchen area. There was also a fridge where guests can store their perishables if they want. Our room was lovely, spacious and warm and the en suite was likewise. There was a good variety of delicious food for breakfast, served up by our kind and relaxed host and the house is just a minute's stroll to a beautiful beach. Need I say more! If you do manage to stay in Yeppoon, make sure you get to see the Flying Foxes (Bats) alighting for their nightly feeding. It's a sight to behold. But make sure you stay in While Away because its the perfect place to be while away from home!

Excellent B&B with great hosts Richard and Lois. Lovely location a few minutes from the beach and lovely walk into Yeppon. Excellent breakfast which set us up for the day.

We stayed in a Queen room which was compact but very comfortable with air-con, good sized bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. The B&B is immaculate with excellent shared guest areas including reading & tv lounges, large dining kitchen and a furnished patio. There is complimentary port and sherry, which we enjoyed as a nightcap one night. Richard and Lois are friendly but discreet hosts and Lois cooked up a great breakfast - choice of eggs plus bacon and cereals, toast, yoghurt and juice. While Away is on a quiet street just a 2 minute drive from the centre of Yeppoon. There is parking for 4 cars. Don't miss Yeppoon's Bat Exodus, every day at dusk, quite a spectacle yet the locals take it for granted.
