Recently stayed at Mercure for a wedding weekend.

When we arrived at the desk, the young lady behind the counter was far from friendly. Dinner in the Billabong Restaraunt was a disaster. Firstly we waited half an hour for a bottle of wine from the wine list, only to be told that it wasnt available. We then ordered another bottle and it wasnt available either. Secondly, the meals were far from edible. The Salt and Pepper calamari Entree was tastless and not worth eating, the rump steak main was ordered medium and was served well done and cold almost 2 hours after ordering.

The facilities are VERY outdated and run-down, mould and rust are visible in the bathrooms and tiles are waterlogged and leak when stood on.

The wedding reception was very well set out and staff were very helpful to start the night. Unfortunately as the night progressed, so did the quality of the service. Being told that no more of a certain beverage is available at 9pm is a joke. Whats worse is we were forced to pay extra for spirits that were supposed to be covered on the bar tab of the evening.

Would have been better off staying in a cheap motel in Yeppoon and travelling out for the wedding. At least we would have felt welcome

Wont waste my time again and I will not recommend this place to anybody. EVER!
