Just returned from a 3 night stay in the Sanmarti Hotel, Lloret de Mar. I had to say when booking the hotel I was a little concerned at the town centre location of it. Don't worry! Noise from the road is un noticable on a night as the roads are blocked off by the police. The local nightlife although only a couple of minutes walk away does not disturb the hotel. Rooms are very basic although spotless. Cleaned every day by friendly staff. The swimming pool is great for a dip although not suitable for very young children as there is no seperate childrens area. The food was really very good considering the hotel is only 2 star. I have had much worse food in 4 star Lloret hotels! All in all if you come here for a quick break and are not fussed about all the frills the Sanmarti is for you. PS. The beer in the hotel is excellent and one of the cheapest places to drink in the resort. Enjoy!

Just got back from a 12 day stay at Hotel Sanmarti in Lloret. It is part of the Don Juan group of hotels. It is a basic 2 star hotel which is located right in the center of the Lloret shopping district. The room was basic two beds pushed together, balcony and a very small bathroom with a bath less than one meter long! Maid service was nice, friendly staff and fresh bedding and towels everyday. The major dissapointment was the food. We had breakfast and dinner included with our room. The breakfast consisted of hard rolls, mystery meats and hard boiled eggs cooked to death. Dinner was not so bad, salads, fish, meat and potatoes. After a few days stopped eating there and lived on tapas for the rest of the trip. Delicious. Overall an ok hotel for your money in the center of Lloret, just don't stay there for the food.
