Had a lovely holliday in October weather was FAB Please give this one a try dont think you will be dissapointed

The biggest problem with this hotel is its 4 star rating. It isn't 4 star. We travelled with Leger Holidays and paid more than some other companies. We found out that Leger hadn't checked the hotel out even though they were promoting the 4 star status.
The decor is dated-very plastic and functional. Bedrooms are on the small side for a 4 star hotel and badly need updating.Don't expect comfortable new beds,a decent television and tea and coffee making facilities!
Our biggest issue was the dining room and the food. Again, a functional cafeteria style with tables and chairs crammed in. In a 4 star hotel I wouldn't expect to have to walk round with my plate of food trying to find somewhere to sit because it was so crowded. The food was plentiful but generally cheap quality and poorly cooked. I wouldn't even class it as consistently 3 star. Mostly casseroles and meat in sauces-we had a chicken casserole on one occasion which was inedible. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were a little better but were the only days when we has roast meat from a joint which was carved. Again, its fine if you like chips for breakfast and sausage and chips for your evening meal but if you want something a little more sophisticated don't choose this hotel.
We found the service acceptable and managed ok with the drinks system although there were long queues at times. The staff were friendly towards us so we had no issues there. It took me a good 10 mins walk to get to the seafront and that's downhill. It's uphill all the way coming back!
stayed in the Hotel Yaramar in Fuengirola in the summer which was a good comparison. Its also a 4 star and gets some mixed reviews but the food, public rooms and accomodation are much much better than this.

Having stayed at this hotel the previous yuletide, we had no qualms booking for a further
visit. The rooms were quite comfortable and warm, some guests were overheard to the
contrary, however, in our opinion, we put this down to the fact that, to operate the controls
need some clarification. The food was to our satisfaction, a varied menu for all the
meals, the Christmas Day Menu was first class, with wines of various vintages to suit any
taste. The main drawback of the hotel is the operation of the BARS in the entertainment
areas, ALL THE STAFF IN THE BAR WERE RUDE AT ALL TIMES.
Maybe this could be put down to the fact as the drinks were free, the staff thought they did
not need to offer a polite service to guests.
It spoilt what could have been a very enjoyable festive occasion, which is something the
management need to rectify, we understand the Royal Star caters to a different age group
during the Spring and Summer than it does at Christmas and New Year,so a little training
would put this right. The Reception desk and Dining room staff were a complete contrast, and the cleanliness of the hotel was at all times to a high standard.

Forgettable avarage hotel with some paying for their own drinks. If you are all inclusive keep tight hold of your drinks card as the bar staff have a profitable use for it.
