“Nightmare!!! Stay away change ur booking over to somewhere else August 17th-- 31st”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

well were do i start food was rank hotel is the most noisest i have ever stayed the walls are so thin nightimes was a nightmare with the banging of the doors and the shouting there was fighting p-i-s-s-h-e-a-d-s everywhere this is nowhere a 4 star more like a 2. the entertainment is for all 3 of the hotels on the complex and is the worst i have ever seen they only ever played 10 songs always the same music in they do not really welcome britsh people its filled with germans who r very rude, loret is very boring place. i thought when i read the reviews it was just the normal odd windge and i never ever complain about anything but this hotel really was diabolical hence the reason of writting on here for the first time. when we spoke to or thomson rep he informed us he had enough of this hotel and was freatning to hand in his notice so complainning to him was a no go. thomson have not signed this hotel up for next year due to its poor quality but was very upset as this was supposed to be a family holiday halfboard and we ended up eating out and not being able to go onto any trips as we had not got enough money,it cost 25euros a week for a safe plus 20 euros for a deposit you have to pay 20 euros for the tv remote as it is fixed on a high volume and only one channel and you have to pay 2 euros for a matress for ur sunbed a day and there is not a fridge in the room and my onsuite sower room was bigger than the hotel room....STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE BOOKED PLEASE CHANGE HOTEL AND RESORT OVER???? i am not a normal winger but this really does need shut down.......................

“What a dreadful disappointment for a family group of seventeen!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

We booked our trip on the internet and thought that the presentation of the hotel group was good. It wasn't until our arrival in LLoret that we realised that the Olympic Garden Hotel was the oldest of the three. The entrance is to the hotel needs a good face lift and the plastic flowers in the lobby probably says everything. Not a good start.
At check in we presented ourselves as a family group. We had phoned the hotel to check that all the rooms would be together so that we, as grandparents, could enjoy our seven grandchildren being together, and able to visit us easily. We had all come from differing locations; Qatar, Belgium and Spain.

The first thing to go wrong was that the "family" rooms were on the ground floor, whilst the double rooms, on the second. Not what we had asked for, but were told that that was the way the hotel was planned. I asked to see the family, or group rooms, as they turned out to be. They were adequate, but certainly not what I had seen in the presentation on the internet. The worst thing was that the balcony looked over the huge pipes which fed the air-conditioning(I think) and, worse than that, they overlooked the outdoor "theatre" where all the shows and entertainment took place every day and evening until midnight.!! Horrendous. All the kids are under 10 and the youngest 2. How they could call them "family" rooms I have no idea.

Needless to say I asked for everyone to be moved. This took a lot of haggling and stress at the hotel desk. After seeing at least three receptionists, I asked to see the Manager. She eventually came and I was told that the hotel was booked and that there was nothing they could do!!! I then threatened to take all 17 of us out of the hotel and asked for a complete refund. She went away and came back 15 minutes later......... If we cleared the rooms very quickly, she would upgrade the families to one of the sister hotels "Olympic Palace" where people had not yet booked in. Poor people who were given our rooms!!!!
We were taken to look at the other hotel and rooms which were in a completely different league. This is what we thought we had booked. The bedrooms were definitely 4/5 star and so were the other areas of the hotel. We were told, however, that our rooms would remain the same, in the other hotel. This, actually, wasn't too much of a problem as the hotels do interconnect through passages. So, the "group" were split and our idea of kids being able to visit, out of the window and..... Guess which passage led to the other hotel........ the original family area. Yet another thing which is totally wrong and very badly planned as that corridor had constant "traffic".

So, the above is a very strong message to any family who wishes to visit the Olympic Gardens Hotel..... DON'T!!! The accommodation is more for groups that families. You may get four young girls or boys, or both next to you, as there is no distinction as to what type of groups stay in those rooms.

As far as the rest of the hotel complex is concerned it has it's pros and cons, like all other hotels of this type. The pool areas were generally kept clean although the grassy areas around the lower pools get very muddy and don't look very good. The upper area, which is overlooked by the Palace bedrooms, is all astra turf and a much better area in which to relax. It is also away from all the noise of the games and music.

The food in the Olympic Gardens hotel was very mediocre. We ate there on the first day and then were "changed" and allowed to eat in the Palace. What a difference!!! Again, that hotel can definitely be called a 4/5 star hotel. I would give the Gardens a 3 at the most.

I hope you have found this useful. If you are travelling from Britain please remember that Spanish hotels do not usually provide tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, so it's good to take a travel kettle if you're used to your morning cup!!!

“Dont pick it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2010

Terrible hotel! the walls of the room seems to be made of carton, we herd our neighbors walking all night. the matras on the bad was sinked.
the breakfast was the only good thing in this hotel, vary and full.
the evening meal was horible, although you have alot of options but nothing tastes like food (chiken was over made, beef blooded). if you want to drink you must pay for it, you cant bring your own, buttle of water costs 1.70 euro. the deposit box costs 5 euro per day, remote controle and hair drier - you must deposit 20 euro per each to get one!
I stayed in alot 2 & 3 stars hotels in Europe... never seen such a horible service! and its called 4 stars...

“This is not a four star hotel, noisy and poor food.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2010

On the positive side this hotel was clean and the staff were most helpful. Rooms are cleaned every day.
The food in the buffet restaurant was awful, apart from the deserts. Food was never warm, and although there is a wide selection, it was difficult to find anything suitable. We lived on salad all week.
The worst part of the hotel was the noise. It was overun by children, that seemed to be completely unsupervised. They were always playing in the lifts, of which there were only 3 and we were on the fourth floor.
The entertainment is aimed mostly at children. There was not one quiet area to sit in this hotel, even the bars had children tearing around them.
I have nothing against children in hotels (I have two of my own) but to let them tear around the hotel all day and late into the night is completely unacceptable.

“perfect holiday”

We stayed in olympic gardens at the start of June 2009. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned daily. We went halfboard and received breakfast and dinner every day. The food was delicious and there was a large selection to choose from. The deserts were beautiful. All food was fresh and some of the meat was cooked in front of you. The pools were beautiful and very clean. The hotel is about 15 mins from the beach and theres lots of shops on the way. There is a water park nearby called Waterworld which is brilliant for all ages, and a free bus is provided to it from the town centre. The rooms don't have a kettle or english channels on the t.v so theres not a lot of entertainment in the room unless you have magazines though. Overall the place is lovely and i would definately recommend it and the weather was sunny and warm all of the 7 days we satayed.
